UPDATE DUE TO WEATHER!!!
**Change of venue for tomorrow's Santa Paws! Rain can't stop Santa visiting with our local dogs! Please share post so as many people know we have changed venue from Stoke Vets. Thanks to Andre and his kind team at The Tyre General at 118 Tahunanui Drive from 1.15pm to 3.15pm. Bring your pups secured with a lead and and lots of loose change to buy a saussie and a raffle ticket and bring some Christmas cheer to the pups of Second Chance!

There's still time to sign up to Secret Santa🎅 Gifts🎁 are due into reception by next Tuesday (10th Dec), so they are ready for pups to take and put under their trees🎄at home.
Our last day for daycare this year is Friday, 20th December. We will be ready & waiting to welcome everyone back to daycare🐾 on Tuesday, 7th January 2025 🎉

MASSIVE thank you to everyone who supported us in our fundraiser for Second Chance Tasman. We managed to raise $580!!! Frankie here pulled the winning ticket out of the box tonight and the lucky recipient of our amazing Christmas hamper which includes Christmas toys, pics peanut butter, a photography voucher for you and your dog plus a one of a kind original print is Taleea Kere!!!!!!

Did you know that our very own dog handler Sara, has a new addition to her family? Sara welcomed Max to her family a few weeks ago when she found him through none other than the Second Chance Tasman page. Sara’s Swedish Vallhund Moss, is absolutely besotted with him 😍.
Our raffle for Second Chance is running all of this week. $2 a ticket or 3 tickets for $5.

We are running a raffle with 100% of the proceeds going to Second Chance to aid in their work with rescuing and rehabilitating local dogs in need, and then matching them to their forever families.

Every pup looked frightfully adorable in their costumes—well done to all the dogs (and their humans) for bringing such wickedly fun vibes to daycare this Halloween!

Cricket would like to remind our Contented family that our Howloween costume competition is being drawn in one week, on Halloween! So get creative and get your entries in! 🎃👻
Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I have always had at least one of my own, usually more. Even while flatting at University I couldn’t be without a dog and adopted a wee rescue. I love all dogs and have owned a wide range of breeds from Bullmastiff to Brussels Griffon.
In 2004 after qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse I began working at a local vet clinic where I gained valuable practical experience and was given the responsibly of running their puppy preschool classes. This reinforced that my real passion was dogs and I continued to do more courses & seminars relating to Canine Behaviour & Training.
A few years later with the encouragement of many clients, I established and built a successful Luxury Boarding Kennels on the outskirts of Wakefield (The Canine Retreat). I enjoyed running the kennels for several years and a lot of regular guests became a big part of my life. It was a very hard decision to sell the business but by then we had two young kids and one more on the way.
Our kids are now older and once again I’m loving working full time on building a business I’m passionate about, The Contented Canine.
By combining what we know works well with the latest concepts in doggy daycare, we can proudly offer an exceptional & different daycare experience for the small dogs of Nelson and their families.
Our aim is to create a family like atmosphere at the Contented Canine, where clients always feel comfortable & welcome.
We are so excited to be growing The Contented Canine family and love having both past and new canine clients and their families join us.
