One of them was Olive - the Akita. What an absolute treasure. Just 4 months old and acting so grown up!! Already so obedient with sits, downs and rollovers!! - check out the size of her feet!! 😳

The Axolotl (always have to look up how to spell this) - are such interesting creatures!!

Personally think you either REALLY love them OR you're freaked out by them!!

With no need for a heater or special lighting these are a lower cost pet to add to the family.
They can grow up to 30cm so important to get an appropriate sized tank OR be prepared to upgrade as it gets bigger.
They don't need a great depth of water, and for this reason the filters we usually use are the Hailea ones that can lie on their side. The filter bar can be angled toward the sides or in a way not to create too much current for them.
Due to the raw food they eat the filter size needs to cater twice the amount of water they are in. This also needs cleaning frequently.
