FOUND CAT - injured, currently at A+ VET Clinic in New Plymouth.

This beautiful boy was brought into A+ Vet, the emergency after hours vet clinic, last night. He is a grey male domestic shorthair, not castrated, and he does not have a microchip. He has a large abscess on his face and is very dehydrated. We have given him first aid - some fluids, antibiotics, pain relief, and treated his abscess. We are hoping we can find his owner as he is still very unwell.

He was found in Waitara, and has been seen recently hanging out near the cemetery.

Today OhMyDog had to say goodbye to our much loved matriarch and family member Zoe. She is the the whole reason OhMyDog was born. She fought her many many battles over the years with such courage, strength and grace. Until we meet again our dear sweet angel. Thank you for 14 years of love, fun and memories. 🐶🐶🐶💫💫💫😇😇😇💕💕💕💗🌸🌸

Eight pets are still waiting to escape violence 😭

Pet Refuge is currently at max capacity, and they need our help! When pets don't have a safe temporary shelter while their families escape abuse, their only options are to stay with the abuser, be left behind or be separated from their families. Every day, families have to choose between their pet and their safety. An impossible choice.

As animal lovers, I know we can agree this is a choice NO ONE should have to make.

**A Journey of Transformation**

I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Riley over the past few weeks. Riley is a 1-year-old Sharpei x Pitbull with a sensitive and sweet nature. When his human mum first reached out to me for help, Riley was struggling to cope with life. Adopted at just 3 months old from the Saving Hope Foundation, Riley had a difficult start. He and his siblings were found under a house at only 2 weeks old, in very poor condition.

From the beginning, Riley’s mum shared that he was easily frightened, and when startled, it could take hours for him to calm down. When I first connected with this dear boy, I immediately sensed his deep fear. He was overwhelmed by feelings of vulnerability, emotional isolation, instability, and a lack of purpose. He had internalized the belief that love equaled cruelty and loneliness from a very young age.

As we began working together, I discovered that Riley had several trapped emotions affecting his physical and emotional well-being. His lung meridian held grief and sadness, his governing meridian stored distrust, and his stomach meridian was weighed down by anxiety and sadness. Additionally, his Triple Heater meridian carried emotions of self-reliance and depression, among others. When regressing to an earlier stage in his life, at just 5 weeks old, Riley had already internalized feelings of fear, lack of protection, and unkindness. All of his chakras were out of balance.

Helping Riley heal has been a gradual process, but his transformation has been remarkable. His reactivity time has drastically improved, and he now overcomes challenging emotions much faster. With patience and care, Riley has come out of his shell. While he still experiences moments of apprehension, his fears have largely subsided. He has even participated in adolescent training, where he continues to make significant progress and has formed a bond with another dog of the same breed.

Riley, you’ve come such a long way, and it has been an honor to support your journey. Well done!

We have had a male black cat brought into us this afternoon. He is not desexed or microchipped. He was found on Coronation Ave, New Plymouth. He is injured and receiving treatment.

**UPDATE** He has come home after 5 1/2 weeks (he is skinny but well!) Thanks to all of you who shared this post.

LOST CAT
Pierce has gone missing from Poplar Grove/Virginia Place area. Last at home early Wednesday morning and is very out of character for him to be gone for so long. He is very curious and likes to hop in to places he shouldn't but is also quite wary of people. He is microchipped and should be wearing a collar with his name and contact details.
