KINGS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND AVAILABILITY
Due to a cancellation we now have a family condo available for Kings Birthday weekend and there are still a few spaces available in the semi communal areas.

We are OPEN AGAIN after having a holiday.
I’ve been to the UK to visit my daughter and had a really lovely time with her and catching up with some friends and visiting lots of beautiful places.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all again and looking after your furry friends!

WE'RE TAKING A HOLIDAY!
We're taking a holiday and the Belt Road Cattery will be closed from Monday 1st May and reopen on Monday 29th May.
During this time Sondra will be taking bookings for any stays when we reopen. These can be made through the website, by emailing [email protected].
The cattery landline number may not be checked during our time away but if you need to phone to make a booking please call or text 0224553411.
We look forward to seeing you again when we return 😄🧳✈️

UPDATE Great news! Kerri has gone to a lovely home on a farm where she will be loved and cared for by her new family. She is the only cat and she has already settled in well and sleeping on the beds in the house. Many thanks to everyone for sharing and helping to find Kerri a forever home :)

ABANDONED, MISTREATED - KERRI NEEDS A LOVING HOME

Kerri was abandoned earlier this year in Auckland. Her original owners moved out and left her behind to fend for herself. Sadly she has not had the love and care that she deserves, the end of her tail had been cut off and she was very underweight.

A kind elderly couple who lived near her original owners didn’t want to see her left to fend for herself so took her in and brought her with them to New Plymouth along with their own cat. Sadly they are unable to keep Kerry due to a change of circumstances so would like to find her a loving, forever home.

Kerri is a lovely Torti Tabby girl, 8 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Despite what she’s been through she’s very loving. Ideally she would be suited to a home where she is the only cat with no young children and can give her the love and kindness that she deserves.

UPDATE: Archie went to a home last weekend and his new owners just love him! He is in a rural home with 2 other cats and a dozen chickens for company, He's settled in really well and if you look at the comments below you will see a photo showing how relaxed and happy he looks!

ARCHIE NEEDS A NEW HOME

Due to a change in circumstances Archie’s owner needs to find him a new home. He is 18 months old, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and de-flead.
We have looked after Archie at the cattery a few times and he started off a shy, quiet young fellow but has blossomed into a lovely affectionate boy who gets on well with other cats and is happy to play with the cats that like to play. He enjoys spending time in the garden and has been known to catch a few mice!
He loves cuddles and will happily sit on your knee. Although he is a little shy once he gets to know you he’s a real gem and will be your best friend.
He would be ideally suited to a home without young children as he hasn’t been around children.

Another amazing animal charity that will be under pressure over the Christmas period.
This charity looks after animals for people escaping domestic violence. If you are able to make a donation it will help to enable families escape their violent situations. Many of these people stay with their abusers as they don’t want to leave their animals to suffer at the hands of their abusers.

UPDATE A massive thank you to every one that has shared, commented, tagged friends and offered a home to Mr Grey.
The response was overwhelming and very touching to know that you all cared so much about this beautiful boy and have all done your part in helping to get the word out there and get him a home.
Yesterday I did a home check and this weekend Mr Grey is going to his new home with the loveliest couple who are so excited and will absolutely adore and spoil him. I know that he will be very happy in his new home and he will love being a very indulged only 'child'!!!
Once again a huge thank you to you all!

Last week Mr Grey’s life was turned upside down when his ‘mum’ was killed in a tragic accident.
She found him as a stray kitten and took him in, cared for him and absolutely adored him.
We now have Mr Grey here at the cattery and he has stayed here several times over the last year so we have come to know and love this beautiful boy. He is a quiet gentle natured fellow and is very sweet and loving once he gets to know you. He is 1 ¾ years old, is neutered, vaccinated, wormed and deflea’d and would make someone a lovely companion.
Ideally a quiet home would suit him and he would flourish best on his own as he hasn’t been brought up with dogs or cats. He was the only cat in his home but he is fine with other cats in the cattery although he is a little shy with them.

UPDATE - Louie has gone to a lovely home on a farm today which is fantastic news!!
LOVELY LOUIE NEEDS A HOME, OWNERS RELOCATING OVERSEAS
Louie is a beautiful 3 ½ year old grey and white neutered male, vaccinated and microchipped.
He is used to living in the country but sadly his owners are moving overseas in December and are unable to take him where they are going.
Louie has been brought up with pigeons, loves playing fetch with a ball and follows his owner around, getting involved with whatever he’s doing. He has a gentle laid back nature so would be ideally suited to a home where he is given lots of love and attention. Preferably a home without dogs as he isn’t used to them and he does get a bit scared of other cats as he’s been beaten up by a few stray cats. In saying that, Louie is fantastic in the cattery and is good with other cats. He is always friendly and loves to have a fuss made of him. If we didn’t already have cats of our own we would have loved to have adopted Louie as he really is a great cat and will be a wonderful companion for whoever adopts him.

Best buddies Vinnie and Teddy met at the cattery. They spend their days together playing with toys, chasing each other, play fighting (don't worry they never hurt each other!) and then end with Vinnie giving Teddy a good wash!!

COVID LOCKDOWN
We are classed as an essential service so we will remain open during lockdown but appointments must be made for pick ups or drop offs.

PICK UPS
We will continue to care for your cats until you are able to collect them.
When you collect your cat you will need to phone us first on 06-758 4488 to organise a time for collection and we will advise you of our contactless procedures.
Payment will be need to be made by internet banking.

DROP OFFS
If you have your cat booked to come in we are still able to take them under certain circumstances but you will need to contact us first.

CANCELLATIONS
Please notify us by email if you are cancelling your booking at [email protected]

Hopefully this lockdown will be short and things will be back to normal soon.
