Last night we had members from North Otago Land Search and Rescue come to the hangar for a helicopter familiarisation training session.
We are very lucky to have these volunteers ready to help out in our community!

Last week we enjoyed hosting about 30 people from Oamaru’s Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Group (CST) at the hangar for a look around, chat about the variety of work we do each day, and a cuppa. This is a community group run by the amazing Debbie and Susie with their group of awesome volunteers each week. There really are some incredible individuals in our community!

Proudly supporting Network Waitaki with their projects

We had some old wires that needed to be replaced with a new more “reliable” aluminum conductor down on Katiki Beach last month, so the team from Heliventures NZ Ltd. gave us a hand with reconductoring.

While we were at it we also upgraded the feed from a single phase to 3 phase (2 to 3 wires) to provide additional capacity for the future.

Did you catch us on 1News on Sunday night? Craig spoke to reporter Ryan Boswell about our idea to use "spy" wallabies to help control the spread of Bennett's wallabies outside the South Canterbury containment area.

We're enjoying working with Otago Regional Council, Environment Canterbury and Ministry for Primary Industries on this project to help stop the spread of these pests! 🚁 🦘
