Our 47 Ready To Run Sale bound 2YOs were on display at Te Rapa this week. Could the next Golden Sixty or Ceolwulf be among them?

We were treated to great weather both days and we're very happy with how our horses breezed.

A two-time second placegetter at the elite level last autumn, Ceolwulf (NZ) (Tavistock) put the spotlight firmly on himself with a stunning coming-of-age performance in Saturday’s Gr.1 TAB Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick.

Ceolwulf was bred by Cambridge Stud owners Brendan and Jo Lindsay and is a son of the Shamardal mare Las Brisas. Ceolwulf is a graduate of the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale, with Joseph Pride going to $170,000 to secure him from Riversley Park's 2022 draft.

We’re excited to be returning to the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale again this November.

This year we have 50 horses catalogued, with 38 individual sires represented including headline acts Savabeel, Snitzel, Deep Field and Proisir.

The NZB Ready To Run Breeze Ups take place at Te Rapa Racecourse on October 21 & 22 and the sale takes place at Karaka on November 20 & 21.

The New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Book 1 Yearling Sale is ALL DONE!!!

We're very happy to have presented 13 lots for sale and sold them all for a 100% clearance rate again this year, at just our second yearling sale.

We're excited to be presenting our second yearling draft at the New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale of 2024.

While our traditional focus has been on breaking in and developing 2YO horses for sale we are enjoying the process of preparing yearlings and we've added our signature Riversley style to the mix.

All 13 Book 1 horses have settled in well at the complex and are ready to begin parading at 9am tomorrow.

We shared a very special moment today as we were reunited with our star graduate Golden Sixty in Hong Kong.

Six years ago we purchased him from the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $120,000. He arrived at our property in Ohaupo, New Zealand a week later and spent the next 10 months being educated by Sam before being sold to Francis Lui through our 2017 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale for $300,000.

The rest is history. He is now the world’s highest earning racehorse, with over HK$165 million in prizemoney and three Hong Kong Horse of the Year titles.

We’ve loved following his career and it was an honour to be on course at Sha Tin to witness his third Gr.1 Hong Kong Mile win on Sunday.

💫 That’s a wrap on our 2023 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale.

We finished the sale as leading vendor for the seventh consecutive year with an aggregate of $5.3million, highlighted by some incredible results.

We would like to thank our staff for all their hard work throughout the year and during the sales week, the results in the ring are not possible without a fantastic team behind us.

Thanks to our buyers and underbidders, we look forward to seeing our graduates progress in their racing careers and wish their new owners the best of luck.

And finally thank you to New Zealand Bloodstock for bringing together a truly remarkable sale.
