Here is a hero of the 4 legged variety. When a very sick doggo was diagnosed with IMHA (Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia) at our Albany clinic last week and needed an urgent blood transfusion the brave dog "Lucky" seemed only too happy to help. Here is Lucky receiving a Certificate of Appreciation ❤️

Vets are still providing care and treatment for animals during lockdown, but things are a bit different. Under Alert Level 4 restrictions, vets can only provide care that can’t be postponed. This means that non-urgent healthcare, routine vaccinations and regular checks need to be postponed until COVID-19 alert levels reduce.

If you’re concerned about delaying an appointment or unsure if your animal needs urgent veterinary care, you should call your vet for advice.

Vet clinics are taking extra safety precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 at this time so you must call your veterinary practice before visiting, even in an emergency.

Vets and their teams are essential workers and are working under the restrictions required to help keep all of us safe at Alert Level 4, so please remember, be kind to your vet team.

Protocols for level 3 are as previously

We are open but under strict protocols

Everything is curbside- animals are allowed in, pet owners stay out in your cars please

Call on arrival for appointments (payments to be done over the phone with a credit or debit card)

Please call or email through prescription requests

Call from your car or from home if you want to make a purchase, food etc to organise contactless pick up

Please keep your 2m distance from staff and other clients

You must inform us if you or anyone else in your household is sick

We have done this before and we can do it again.

Today we moved into level 2.5
Please be patient with us as all Veterinary clinics have guidelines from the MPI that we must follow:
-Our waiting rooms will still be closed
-ONE human will be allowed to accompany your pet/s inside the building, please call the vet when you arrive in the car park and you will be told when you can come in
-Try to call ahead where possible for all reasons (appointments, purchases, prescriptions etc)
-Masks must be worn inside and will be supplied for you if you do not have your own.
-If a mask is unable to be worn we can collect your pet from the carpark, and the consult will be done over the phone while you wait in the car as done in L3/4
-You must let us know if you are sick or in isolation
