Bit loaning and renting is something I do offer but don’t advertise.

I feel strongly that it should go Hand 🖐️ in hand with a bit consult so I can come up with the best options for you and your horse.

Taking into account;
➡️Discipline and level
⏺️ oral anatomy
➡️breed and age
↘️ sensitivity and history

Just to list some contributing factors.

Please make sure your bit information is coming from a trained source as I see so much information floating around on the net.

Apologies I’ve hit calving so hard and 💨 fast I forgot to post!!
Enjoy doing my fittings and helping horses and riders with bit solutions but I’m busy until end of August with calves 🐮 .
Happy to chat briefly on my cell contact for urgent bit advice!
Will clean up my lose ends of bits on trial over the next few days (have a few arrivals here)!

Canine teeth 🦷
The sensitivity and sensation when they are in contact with the bit is uncomfortable and can present as many issues while ridden.
Bit placement is important.
They erupt around 4-6 years and are usually very painful during eruption. Canines are found in the male horse and up yo 25% of females have some rudimentary form of canine teeth
Canine teeth serve no purpose other than as a fighting weapon and are not commonly removed due to the roots.

💙Sweet Iron BIT mouthpiece care💙

Sweet iron is not only a lovely, warm metal which will warms quickly in the mouth to mouth temperature, but it's taste also encourages salivation and bit acceptance.
-
This rust in turn will tingle in the horse's mouth and stimulate salivation.
-
It is completely safe for your horse, and all you need do in fact is quickly dunk in a water bucket (we recommend a drop of human mouthwash in the bucket, wipe the bit with a clean cloth and allow it to dry.

Do not panic if your shiny blue Bomber bit goes rusty and blackens over time, this is completely normal and what we need to see happening :)

Finally a full day sorting bits and organising my kits!
I have been very busy taking on the kyrewood equestrian centre and with Nga tawa fittings!

Few bits to hunt down but I look forward with great plans for 2022 - booking up my Wednesdays with fittings.
My travel days are limited with a farm - family and do prefer to work out of my home arena or kyrewood although my arm can be twisted.
