You may not realize about dog groomers!

1 Dog groomers are particularly hard on their work and sometimes even themselves, trying to make the dog look great. Each dog is like another piece of art trying to get the client's desires ! Symmetrical and the best look for the dog.

2. Dog groomers have incredible handling skills and often get the dog to work through things that can't be done at home! These amazing groomers can often do this the first time of working with a new dog! I have even heard vets mention dog groomers are the best at handling dogs.

3. Dog groomers are some of the most observant people, checking and finding potential health issues very fast that can be hard to see or overlook!

4. Dog groomers become deep friends with your dogs, and they have a unique bond that grows over time even if they seem to look nervous about being groomed!

5. Dog groomers are often put under a lot of pressure with time, styling, and expectations, which you would often think they wouldn't be. Dog grooming is or can be a super high-pressure job.

6. Dog groomers' love for dogs is a powerful passion! We look past the dirt, sweat, constant hair tornadoes, poops and whatever other weird things .... to be in the energy of these beautiful canines.

Remember, the most important part is that the dog looks to the owner's energy, keep yourself calm and grounded!

Create a calming atmosphere and keep the dog inside with music/TV to disguise the noise. Closed curtains either in a room of comforts or where their safe place is.

I am a Bernese Mountain Dog Pup 🐶 😍

Bernese Mountain Dogs are large, strong, and loyal working dogs from Switzerland known for their distinctive tri-colored coat. They were originally bred for herding cattle and pulling carts, and they enjoy activities like drafting and carting. How stunning is he!

Learning how to feel comfortable at the groomers.

1. Practice using the blow-dryer, short sessions on a cool setting, and be sure not to burn or hold the dryer in one spot.

2. Pooches need to be hitched to keep them from jumping off tables and being safely secured while being groomed. This is vital to teach your puppy gradually, so grooming sessions are less overwhelming.

3. Touch, hold, and release paws. This is a great way to build the dog's understanding to pleasantly receive a groomer holding paws while trimming.

4. Remember to practice the puppy being separated from you in a crate or a run.

The more you work with them at home, the more you will improve their overall way they accept grooming.

Country Clips update! It's been just over a month since I have not been taking any new clients as I am full. I would like to give every dog the opportunity to work with me, but unfortunately, if I overbook new clients it doesn't give dogs a supportive space. This is important to me, so my clients pooches get the best environment.

I will have, however, have application available in the future to fill the spaces that become available.

I also have decided I would be able to work with people that haven't had the opportunity with me in a workshop situation which will be coming together shortly. (You can put your name down if you are interested) This would be in-person experience, for existing and new peps!

When we notice the small, seemingly unimportant changes or shifts in a dog, these could be personality traits, habits, or their responses are different from the norm. We as humans may see them as slow or minor changes. Remember, in a dog's world, these are HUGE! These are the breakthroughs that are the building blocks that make lifelong impacts.

This is Lex, and i am working with her using ConTact C.A.R.E.

After her first session, i noticed she became more affectionate and confident, her personality blossomed. These may be easily missed because we can get stuck in what's not working.
