Tickets are $2 each and can be purchased here at the centre.

The money raised will go toward helping us continue to care and provide for animals in need.

Do you have any old, clean blankets that need a new purpose??
Our doggos have gone through a lot of blankets recently, and our storage cupboard is empty. If you have any that you no longer have use for, our doggies would really appreciate them. Centre open hours are Tues-Fri 10am-3.30pm & Sat-Sun 10am-2pm.

Smallies shoutout 💙

We post a lot about cats and dogs, but did you know that we also have some beautiful small creatures that have been waiting a long time for their forever homes?

Sylvie, Layla, and Bundaberg are a gorgeous trio of guinea pigs (one desexed male and two females). They are seriously cute and would love a nice big, predator proof habitat that allows them to express normal behaviours such as popcorning (guinea pig happy jumps), as well as a safe indoor area where they can snuggle up! C and C grid cages lined with fleece are perfect for these!

Ana and Olaf are a bonded pair of rabbits (male/female, desexed pair), who would love a big aviary/enclosure that is predator-proof with lots of space to binky and play! They are super affectionate (especially Olaf), and will make amazing companions :)

Never had rabbits or guinea pigs before? Not a problem! Centre staff are happy to guide you through appropriate care and dietary requirements for these special animals.

Please note: these guys are not currently in the centre, they are in foster homes. An application will need to be made and reviewed in order to arrange a time to meet them.

🐶💙 Urgent Call for Help! 💙🐶

Our Centre is in need of medium to large dog kennels to help provide shelter for the many dogs in our care. If you have a kennel you no longer need, we would be incredibly grateful for your donation! Kennels can be dropped off at the Centre at any time.

But that’s not all—we also desperately need puppy fosters! 🐾 Our team is working hard to care for a growing number of helpless puppies, and we simply can’t do it alone. Each week, more little ones arrive, and we need dedicated fosters to help them grow strong and happy while they wait for their forever homes.

Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience. You provide the love, we provide the supplies and support. If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time!

🐾 EVERY DAY IS CATURDAY 🐾

Manawatū, you never cease to amaze us! We are so lucky to have such an incredible, cat-loving community.

Since launching Caturdays, we’ve seen a huge influx of visitors to the shelter—but did you know that every day we’re open is Caturday? That means if you’re looking to adopt, you don’t need an appointment to find your new feline friend!

While kitty cuddles are always welcome, we do prioritize adoption interest to ensure our furry residents have the best chance at finding their forever homes.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with an SPCA fundraising event in May. The fundraiser will take place across Friday 30 May, Saturday 31 May, and Sunday 1 June. As a volunteer Area Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in coordinating teams, managing logistics, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly in your location.
