Chestnut and siblings are looking for their forever homes! Chestnut (aka "little buddy") is spending time in his foster home. He is loving dog parks, long walks, and has adapted to everything so quickly, including crate and house training. He is a fast learner and is very motivated.

He is learning to swim in the river and is meeting lots of other dogs (he loves having a brother or sister, so if you already have a dog that would benefit from having a play buddy, Chestnut is your guy!). Chestnut or one of his siblings will make the PERFECT addition to your family!

If you are interested in applying for one of our beautiful dogs, please apply via the link below

⚡ Flash is searching for his forever herd ⚡

Handsome Flash is a super sweet man with a lot of potential. He would make a beautiful hack for the right person who is willing to give him training and guidance to bring out the best in him.

Flash has been waiting for a very long time and just wants to find his family. Horses are a herd species, so it is important that Flash has equine friends to share his life with when he isn't out adventuring with you of course!

He is a big, well-built boy, and will honestly be your best friend. His foster family has done a lot of work to earn his trust back and he is becoming the coolest dude!

We helped Halo's dreams come true 🏡 🐎 Can we do the same for Flash?

Please share this post so that we can find his people, or apply for Flash via the link below:

🐾 We're in Need of Bowls for Our Furry Friends! 🐾

What we need:

Plastic Double Bowls for our feline friends – perfect for food and water.

Deep Ceramic Bowls for water – to ensure our feline companions have enough hydration.

Larger Porcelain Bowls for our bunnies – we need bowls that are sturdy and can’t be tossed around while they enjoy their pellets, veggies, and water.

These bowls are essential for keeping our furry friends fed and hydrated in a safe, stress-free environment.

If you have any spare bowls or would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate your support. Every little bit helps! 🙏

Thank you for helping us care for those in need. 🐱🐰💕

Want to come and meet all of the cute cats at SPCA? Come along to one of our walk-in Caturdays! 🐱🙌

While adopters usually require appointments to meet the animals, for the next eight weeks you can simply drop into our Centres on Saturdays to meet the cats and kittens in our care.

Kitten season is in full swing, with over 1,400 felines needing to find homes over the next eight weeks ❤️ When you choose to adopt from SPCA, you can rest assured knowing they've been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and health-checked, to ensure they have the best start to their new lives.

To speed up the adoption process for you on the walk-in Caturdays, we recommend registering your interest at www.spca.nz/caturday-adoptions - click the 'register to adopt' button on one of their profiles! (Please note appointments are still required for other animal adoptions).

We hope to see you on one of our walk-in Caturdays at your nearest SPCA Centre - every Saturday from 25 January to 15 March! 🙏

Hey everyone!!
Meet our wonderful boy Boots! Or as we all love and know him by " BOOTSIE BOY ".
Boots is up for adoption and is still looking for his forever home. One of our gorgeous volunteers took our Bootsie Boy for a walk today, and here is what they had to say about him:

"Boots can now almost sit on command! He is learning to sit with treats held above head and a hand placed on the bottom. Boots was an absolute pleasure to walk. He walks ahead because he is so big but doesn't pull at all and always checks back to see if we are okay 💜. He LOVES to run and gets all excited at runners going by but otherwise he was excellent around the kids and their bikes and very well behaved with other dogs and pedestrians. We took him to a cafe in Hokowhitu which is a busy area and he was very good on his leash just sniffing and standing with my husband. He loved his warm milk!! Boots is a very good dog to walk and is a very gentle natured dog. He is just a huge goofball ready for life and a loving family 💜"

It can't get much better than this! Follow the link below and adopt Boots today.

Looking for a fun activity for the school holidays? Design a bandana, and win a dog soft toy! 🐶 🙌

Get your kids to unleash their creativity and design a fun dog bandana. It's good to remind them that while dressing up animals can look cute, it's important to consider their comfort and think about why they may not enjoy it - and bandanas can be a good alternative to funny outfits!

How to enter:
1. Head to the latest issue of Kind Matters, and create a unique bandana design using the template.
2. Take a photo or scan of your finished design, and upload it online along with your details.

The template and entry portal can both be found here: https://kids.spcaeducation.org.nz/newsletter/

All Panda wanted for Christmas was a home of his own 🥹 🐼

You may recognize Panda as the star of the Feilding Santa parade, or as SPCA'S top office dog, or out on adventures with our amazing dog-walking volunteers!

Panda is a firm favourite with staff and volunteers alike, and he keeps us company in the office during the day.

Panda didn't get adopted for Christmas 🥹 But what we want more than anything is for Panda to go into 2025 with a New Year, New Me, New Family vibe 🖤

Could you be Panda's best bud forever?

Maybe you work from home and need an office buddy? Or you go to work and want someone to come home to and give you unconditional love? Maybe you like to run, but then like to cuddle on a couch or a bed? Panda is your guy! All of the above!

Please please help us make Panda's dreams come true. He has been waiting for far too long.

Apply for Panda via our website: https://www.spca.nz/centre/palmerston-north-centre
