Celebrating 20 years of business ownership today. After starting at Cahill Animal Hospital in 1993 I am now looking after my 3rd generation of clients and their pets. I have got to work with some fantastic team members and met lots of amazing people in this job. Thank you to my family & friends, work colleagues (both within our team & external colleagues) and my clients for all your support over the years. I am fortunate to be doing a job that I love and being able to help people and their pets.

Calling all new dog owners!! Our puppy preschool is ready to go again on Tuesday the 16th 📣 If you have a puppy between 10 and 16 weeks old, with one vaccination, then you're eligible for this great opportunity. Our classes are run by our local Hills Pet representative Emma, and run through basic training, socialization, and getting your puppy used to being in a vet clinic. Be quick, there are only 4 spots left!!

PUP-lic Service Announcement!! 📣Taking the dog for a walk in the sun is a great activity, but you MUST check the temperature of the footpath first. If you place the palm of your hand down, and it's too hot for your hand then it's also too hot for paw pads 🔥
Burnt paw pads are really painful but totally avoidable 😄

Believe it or not, the weather is getting warmer here in Palmy. And it doesn't take much time for your car to heat up. About as much time as it takes to get an iced coffee from the new Starbucks store 👀 On a 21°C day, the inside temperature of your car could reach 32°C after 10 minutes and 40°C after 30 minutes! 🔥🔥🔥

Please make sure that your pets aren't left inside your car, even if you're parked in the shade or have the windows cracked open. It may not be enough.
When it comes to heatstroke, prevention is the best defence. Always make sure your pet has access to plenty of fresh, cool water and a shaded, well-ventilated area to hang out in. If you have your pet in the car with you and need to get out – even if it’s only for 10 minutes – take them with you.

This is Tigger, he was brought to us earlier this week by a member of the public. We scanned him for a microchip and thankfully he was registered on the national database. Through NZCAR, we were able to contact Tigger's owners and reunite him. Tigger had been missing for 4 weeks, and was found 10km away from home! 😲 It just goes to show how useful it is to register your pets with NZCAR because if they are found, no matter where in the country, they can be reunited with their family. Tigger is now home safe, and consent was gained before posting this video. #cahillanimalhospital #nzcar #companionanimalregister #foundpets
