🐾 Latest from Kapiti Dog Trainer: Cat Edition! 🐾

While we often focus on dogs, today I'm excited to share a peek into a personal project with my cat, T-lo. We're working towards the Novice Trick Training Title, and our latest achievement is a 6-second eye contact.

Fibi and I had a lot of fun the past few weeks earning our 'Novice Trick Dog title' 🥳 - In order to do this, you have to demonstrate 15 behaviours from a large list of options [we only did 13 - as two of our behaviours counted towards two points due to being from more advance 'trick dog title lists'].

Here's a compilation video of the 13 we choose!

Teaching Fibi to close her crate door 💚

🥳 💚 🐾 - enjoying the sun [I can feel the collective cortisol level of the house going down!]

This isn't the loose relaxed body language I am used to when I spend time in our lounge [with the curtains wide open] with Fibi!

Making the 'right' behaviour easier by adding this film to the lounge windows [see arrows] has successfully minimized visual-stimuli in this space that cues Fibi-dog to loudly use her vocal chords! 😜

🥳 💚 🐾 Seat in plus movement

* One thing to celebrate that I approximated;

We put the seat back in this time but modified it so the back of it's flat [eventually it will be lower and taking up more space with regards to where Fibi is sat]

* One thing to celebrate that Fibi approximated;

Seemingly was totally cool with this being added in!

* One small possible approximation to build on this awesome sauce for next time;

Build up to a 5 second duration of this ⬆️ between pieces of food.
