One of the benefits of having an experienced veterinary nurse doing in-home pet care, is the ability to know when something isn’t right and if it needs medical attention - whether it’s an emergency, fairly urgent, or whether it can wait. Yesterday when I arrived to feed Archie and his sisters, I immediately noticed he was limping. Though he was eating, bright and happy, I do know he was sore to not be baring any weight on that front left paw. Cats are stoic and generally don’t like to show they are in pain or compromised in any way. After contacting his mum, I organised an appointment for him at his vet for later in the morning, packaged him up and got him checked over. After I took him back home, I gave him some pain relief and set him up in a room for quiet time. This is one of the perks of doing what I do (cuddles aside) - the knowledge I carry for the medical and nursing side of it, which I love. Feel better soon my little mate!
My new squeeze Henry just wants to let you know I’ll be away on Tuesday March 11th and Wednesday March 12th! Thanks Henry 🥰
Are you a bit late organising pet care for the Christmas holidays this year?
Maybe finding boarding facilities are fully booked?
Maybe your pet is not suited for boarding due to age, temperament, anxiety, health concerns, injury, overdue vaccinations, or species.
I am a qualified veterinary nurse with 6 years clinical experience at a practice specialising in behaviour and focused on low-stress handling, as well as 8 years providing in-home pet care services to the Porirua area. I offer 1 to 2 visits per day as required in your home, at $25 per 20 min visit to feed, refresh water, clean out litter trays, provide TLC and play, refresh bedding, open and close curtains, water your plants, bring in your mail, take out your wheelie bin, and alternate lights, with ample experience to provide any nursing care services - administering oral or topical medication and subcutaneous injections (insulin, fluid therapy, pain relief, eg), and the ability to recognise when your pet needs medical attention and a trip to the vet. Vomit and hairballs? All good. Poop? No prob. Each animal is unique, so visits are tailored to suit their needs.
I look after cats, dogs, birds, guinea pigs, rodents, fish, chickens, rabbits and reptiles. Additionally I can visit rural properties and manage basic care of larger animals including (but not limited to) sheep, pigs, alpacas and cows... you don’t have to be “Fluffy” at all. You can be anything!
I keep owners updated regularly via txt, messenger or email, and will send photos where possible for peace of mind. You can relax knowing they are well looked after while you are away.
I am more than comfortable with cameras in the home and if you do check, you will often find me talking or singing as if no one is listening! I understand that it is peace of mind for some to keep an eye on their little loved ones while they are away.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch for any enquiries. Our initial meeting will be free of cha
Maggie and I often see this very curious ginger boy when we’re walking. He comes running to us. Maggie is such a good girl
It’s moulting season

Milo is happy
Imagine a job where your clients are THIS happy to see you! 🥰
Astounded at the amount of people scared of chickens. They’re just mini Modern day dinosaurs shouting at me and providing the goods 🥚 so weird, but the weirder the better!
Kunekune cutie patootie’s! There is no limit to the animals I am willing and able (and love to) care for 🫶🏻
Milo really appreciating my visit this morning 😻
