A must-see school holiday treat!

The Hoiho are heading to Circa Theatre!

It’s early June, and while other Hoiho are socialising on the beach at Curio Bay, two yellow-eyed penguins are about to experience a very different kind of adventure. Talent scouts have told them that they’re going to star in their very own play at Circa Theatre this July!

Follow along as Tahi and Kōwhai the Hoiho make their long journey up from Curio Bay to Circa Theatre. Tahi is so excited he’s tripped over a bit of driftwood. Good thing Kōwhai is there to help him!

Come Along and Help Plant
The joint project between Porirua City and Plimmerton Rotary to create the "Rotary Forest of Peace & Remembrance" has taken a big leap forward in recent weeks with the planting of about 5000 plants around the the boundary between Taupo Swamp and Plimmerton Domain.
The next planting morning will be Saturday 31st July. 9 am to midday and helpers are most welcome.
Gather in the carpark adjacent to the Plimmerton Menzshed.
Bring your favourite planting spade and your gumboots.

Rotary Peace and Remembrance Forest Planting
Wednesday 30 June 2021 8.30am to 12.00pm This has been postponed until Friday- due to Covid.
There is more planting to be done on Wednesday as well as some weeding. Most of the planting will be undertaken by a team from Porirua City and the aim is to plant 2500 stems during the morning. This is an impressive start to this year's planting programme at the Forest and builds on last year's very successful planting.
Rotary Club members will undertake some weeding and tidying up of last year’s planting.
