UPDATE: Great news this wee pups owner has been found - thanks to everyone who shared the post.

FOUND: This cute wee pup has been handed into our clinic this afternoon – he is approximately 10 weeks old but has no collar or microchip. Our team are taking great care of him, but we do need to get in touch with his owner as soon as possible – please share around Otago; he may have been in a vehicle as he was found in the Devil’s Staircase area.
If you are his owner, or have any info, please contact our clinic on 03 442 9977.

Cliff’s Reminder: Microchip & Register!

📍Queenstown Pet Parents: Quick update from your vet team.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen a spike in lost dog reports across the region. It’s a tough reminder of how easily a curious pup can slip away, but there’s one thing that can make all the difference: microchipping and registering with NZCAR.

A microchip is your pet’s voice when they’re lost. But to work, it must be linked to your contact details through the Companion Animals NZ Register – so you can be contacted quickly if they’re found.

🐶 Just like Cliff here – who popped in to double-check his microchip was working and registered! What a good boy 💜

✅ Microchipped pets are 3x more likely to be reunited
✅ NZCAR registration is nationwide & accessible
✅ FREE for new Petfirst Wellness members at sign-up!
📲 Not sure if your dog’s details are up to date?

Visit www.animalregister.co.nz to check.

👉 Be like Cliff – swing by our Queenstown clinic and we’ll scan your pet’s chip for free. It's fast, easy, and gives you peace of mind.

🐶🩺 Time for a Check-Up! 🩺🐶

We’re always so happy to see our pets and pet parents! It’s not just about visits but about keeping them healthy and happy every single day!

💙 Here are 3 great reasons to book your pets annual check-up:

1. Early Detection of Health Issues
Pets can be experts at hiding illness. During a check-up, vets can check for early signs of health problems.

2. Preventive Care and Up-to-Date Vaccinations
Annual visits ensure vaccines are current, monitor the weight and parasite prevention of your pet.

3. Dental Health Check
Over 80% of dogs older than three can develop periodontal disease. During a check-up, vets assess teeth and gums and advise on cleaning or dental care to prevent painful infections.
