TERRIER EXAM 🐾🐕 - weekend just been, I sat my Terrier exam, (a Airedale & Scottie) and passed both with great marks ! I am so thankful for both my dogs owners to allow me to use there beautiful dogs and let me sit my exam with them 😍 I am now officially a National Certified Terrier Groomer, along side my others I have sat (Non sporting & Gundogs) Only 1 exam left and that is my Masters !! Woohoo

Wellington Groomalong 2023 done and dusty ! I am so extremely happy with how my groom turned out on Burtie yesterday, I was also lucky enough to place in quite a big class, with some amazing grooms! 🐶 was such a awesome experience 💕💕 Burtie is just the best & it is so awesome to also learn and grow as a groomer from the amazing judges that have travelled internationally and been able to give us some wee tips and tricks on our grooming ✂️💕

Yesterday I sat my Gundog exam and groomed a cocker spaniel “Burtie” 🐶 and passed !! 🎉🎉🎉 I have been preparing him for this Exam since November 2022, to maintain his coat and make sure it wasn’t getting knotty so that we could have the beautiful long feathering. To become a fully Certified Master groomer you have to participate at Pass all 4 exams with passing rates of atleast 75%, you can sit 1 exam a year. I have now official passed 2 of them (Gundog) and (Non Sporting)
Today I got an average score from both judges of 89.25% which I am extremely happy about. To fully pass your exams you also have to learn the breed standards for the the group of what your exam is on, this one being Gundogs, which includes, Spaniels, Retrievers, Setters, Pointers ect. And I got a passing rate of 92.9% which is absolutely amazing, I Can’t thank Burties owners enough for lending and trusting me with Burtie to let me use him for my exam. But the Lady I would like to thank most is Verna, if it wasn’t for her taking me on 2 years ago then I definitely wouldn’t be even close to being able todo what I do today. 🐶🐶🎉🎉 here are my before and after pictures 📸📸

Last Friday I attended the NewZealand Groomalong competition 2022 in Christchurch to sit my poodle exam, which is 1 of 4 exams held in NewZealand to be able to become a Master Groomer, you can sit 1 a year. And I passed my Poodle exam ! What an amazing experience, I put in a lot of time practicing and preparing my dog for my exam and the competition! I will continue sitting through my exams and continue to learn and just be better and better, next year is the Cocker Spaniel (Gun dogs) each exam has a theory part as well where we answer questions about a particular group of dogs, from the Official Breed Standards that are recognised in NewZealand, so we also do 4 written exams along side the grooms we do. Becoming a NewZealand Master groomer also means other countries around the world recognise us as professionals dog groomers. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the help of my amazing tutor, Verna. She took me, not knowing anything about dog grooming, and has taught me everything I now know ! Along side my exam I sat last Friday, I also competed in the competition, which 2 amazing judges came over for, 1 from America and 1 from Australia. I was in the novice pet style section and won 1st place. So very thrilled, couldn’t be more happy ! 🐶🐶🐾❤️

What a wee cutie !! Schnauzer pup in for his first groom today at 15 weeks, the perfect time to bring them in and getting them used to grooming! He just had a puppy trim, tidy around feet and sanitaries, the owner wanted the body coat left on so he just had a brush out and then I styled his head, he was so well behaved and enjoyed his time with me 🥰🐶

Dog grooming? No horse grooming ! This is my miniature horse Basil 🥰 he’s nearly 7 months old and I gave him a bath and since the weather isn’t the warmest I thought there was no better idea than to try blow dry him like we blow dry the dogs 😅 he was so cool calm and collected about it. He is just the coolest wee boy 😎
