We are a greyhound rehoming kennel for retired racers. We prepare these beautiful greys for the agencies to take for adoption.

We work in with 4 rehoming agencies, Greyhounds as pets, KiwiKiwi hounds, May hounds and Nightrave greyhounds.

✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️Happy Wednesday for us here!!!
- the smiley face of a dog who has just been told it's their turn to enter foster next week! 🫶🏼🫶🏼 ugh look at him! The black sleeky boy.
Tommy our spookie boy is a special lad who has won hearts all over the greyhound community 💖 but it was a case of not finding the right match!😔 It just so happens a foster home has opened up which could be the perfect fit. He will go in with another greyhound to help learn the ropes of pet life all while Lisa Greyhounds As Pets NZ hunts for his family 🖤
- Jen our old girl who sits at the tender age of 9 was also picked. That made our hearts sing! Jen has always been over looked for her age 😭 This probably was the best one yet for us.
- and lastly we said goodbye to our beautiful talulah! Talulah is a dream girl through and through. She is entering foster with May Hounds Charitable Trust - Greyhound Rehoming Group to help mend a broken heart 💔💝 she will certainly help with this.

Oooooh we had a hard week saying 'see you later alligator' to these 3 stunners! 🖤
Giselle, Leaha and Lexi all found their perfect matches and ventured off into their forever.

Mini kennel hand Harper got the privilege of handing over Giselle to her family alongside Lisa Greyhounds As Pets NZ. She was proud as punch 🤗🤗

After a much needed break off social media we are back to business! During the Christmas/New year break we said our bitter sweet goodbyes to Otto, Randall, Zorro, Tena, Envy and Apollo!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
We have a few more fresh faces to introduce to you all - and some very beautiful faces if you ask me. Greys that can live with cats...The whole shabaaaaaam 💃🕺 2025 is the year to add a greyhound to your family! we believe it brings good luck 🍀 aswell a whole new meaning to life. Once you go greyhound you never go back!! Plenty of people will back us up on this! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

And that's a wrap! DAVID is the last one of the Swimming goats x Saving lots litter to enter the rehoming world through rangiora. This lucky boy has gone on a road trip with the lovely ladies of KiwiKiwi Hounds Adoption today! And we can tell you he was all smiles. Mr David is full of quirks and we know someone special is gonna fall head over heels for him. 🦘🦘🦘

Altena the smooch!! This delicious gal has passed all her assessments with us ✅️
A little bit about her : Altena also known as Tena is a placid but easy going girl who doesn't ask for alot. She is very into her cuddles and being petted - she goes very tired eyes, gets the lean on and just looks like she's in heaven... she's got a huge heart ready to love up on someone! She definitely has that loyal vibe going on and to top it off she's intelligent 🤓
Tena is very well behaved on lead and walking time is her favorite where she gets to connect with the humans. To make it even better Tena can live with cats 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 😍 ❤️

Dear mates, our sunshine boy ☀️
Today was the first day without you in our kennels and it's safe to say it felt so wrong 😏😟. You were the first boy we would see every morning 🌄, those beautiful smiles😁 and wiggle butts made the start of our days perfect👌🤌🫰. You came into us a "spook" so scared of the big wide world but your determination to beat these anxious feelings was admirable. You let us in, opened your big heart and you have truly blossomed. You are intelligent, compassionate and loyal and whoever gets you is the luckiest family in the world 🌎 You have met so many people in your rehoming journey, and you have always left a forever lasting print on them. Everyone wanted a bit of mates as you know! Alot of happy (secretly broken) hearts 💕 when they found out you approved of this one very special foster family. You picked this family. We knew you were ready to go - we weren't. But honestly when are we ever ready to let go. Life's journey is taking you to new places, enjoy every moment like we know you will. Distance may separate us but our love for you here at greatmates will stay strong. It is beyond measure with you me mates. And lastly this isn't a goodbye but a see you soon my love!

Harper and sassy attended west eyreton school agriculture day and entered into the fancy dress Pet segment.....and the girls came in first place! 🥇🏆 Not only was sassy amazing with everything going on but she was a great advocate for the breed we all love. Maybe we will see more greyhounds these ways! 🙏🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Rainbow girl, started her adventure with Greyhounds As Pets NZ 💕 eeeeek. 🌈 is a pocket rocket extroverted girl with a hint of sass. We like strong minded women 💪 Rainbow expresses her happiness through lots of spins, cuddles and kisses. She can be a major goof ball when she wants to be and is very much into play - I mean she is only a young chicken just gone 2! Rainbow loves children but we would prefer 8 years and older as she can forget her size in cuddle mode/ play mode 😆
