Welcome our festive surprise! ๐ Parisa (Riggit Galloway) and Ragnar's (Miniature highland) union delivered this stunning Christmas giftโa cool unique white Striped mini calf. โจ
Ever wondered about the fascinating roots of our miniature highlands? ๐ฟ They hail from the incredible breeding legacy of Ruatiti Highland Fold, a once-thriving farm with a rich history.
Back in the early 90s, Lyn and Graham Mills, the visionaries behind Ruatiti Highland Fold, imported the original bull, Michtavish, from overseas. Standing proudly at 38" at the pin bone, Michtavish played a crucial role in shaping the genetic foundation of miniature highlands in New Zealand.
Being the pioneering miniature highland imported into the country, Michtavish's genetic influence is likely present in the majority of miniature highlands today.
During those early days, these magnificent creatures from Ruatiti Fold were not just sought after for their unique charm but also fetched impressive prices ranging from 10-15k+.
Ruatiti Fold's remarkable journey reached a wider audience when it was featured on Country Calendar in the early 2000s, showcasing the dedication and passion of Lyn and Graham Mills in breeding these extraordinary animals. My dad (Carl Peterson) is now Lyn's partner, so I have had the opportunity to learn and become involved with these awesome little creatures.
When you welcome one of our miniatures into your home, you're not just getting a charming companion but a piece of history. Each of our miniatures has a direct lineage traced back to the prestigious Ruatiti Fold, ensuring excellence in every furry friend we provide. ๐ฎ๐
