Did you know that dogs could get bladder stones this big?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

For such a little dog, Tess the little Paplillon had quite the sizeable stone that needed to be removed asap. Our vet Craig diagnosed it with xrays and we were able to successfully remove it and get Tess home to her family. Hereโ€™s hoping she can wee a little bit easier from now on! ๐Ÿถ

Mouse unfortunately had an accident where the tip of his tail was badly damaged resulting in needing surgery at Bay After Hours Veterinary Hospital in Tauranga. He then came in to us for regular bandage changes and check ups. We grew quite the liking to this guy! Happy to report he has recovered well ๐Ÿพ

We have unfortunately had a deceased female cat handed into the clinic today, she is a black and white DMH with 4 white socks, a white mo and white chest. Looks to be 1-3 years old, no microchip. This gentle giant came in with quite the broken hind leg, but he was always wagging his tail with a smile on his face. After discussions between his owners and our vet James, it was opted to have his leg amputated. He recovered well from surgery and is back at home with his family! ๐Ÿพ

And finally, our last Veterinary Nurse to introduce you to for Veterinary Nurse Awareness Week is our Head Veterinary Nurse Beth.

Beth joined us at the start of the year after moving to New Zealand from Scotland ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ She got her Degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2019, and has worked in general practice, charity, referral and emergency hospitals.
Beth runs our puppy school, and loves meeting your new puppies and helping owners out with their puppy related questions.
She has a keen interest in emergency nursing and veterinary anaesthesia, and hopes to complete her certificate in anaesthesia in the next few years.

Sophie is a young local student currently studying to become a qualified veterinary nurse through Toi Ohomai. We enjoyed having her so much for work experience that we now employ her as a casual vet nurse when sheโ€™s on break from her studies!
Sophie is enjoying learning from our team of nurses and has been a great asset to the team!
She loves all areas of nursing, and enjoys all the small fluffies that come into practice

Our next nurse to introduce you to for Veterinary Nurse Awareness week is Tayla.

Tayla is our Head Veterinary Technician for our large animal team ๐Ÿฎ. Her role keeps her extremely busy, but she is also currently studying her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and will complete it at the end of the year.

Previously Tayla has worked in a mixed role doing small and large animal work, as well as customer service roles at our Ngongotaha clinic. Tayla enjoys her varied role, managing a team of techs and working on farms all around the Bay of Plenty and Waikato region.

In the future she hopes to develop her skills in emergency and critical care nursing for small animal patients.

Our next nurse to introduce you to for Veterinary Nurse Awareness week is Paulette!

Paulette has been nursing for 26 years and is a familiar face for our clients at Vetora. Paulette works in both vet nursing and reception at Vetora, and really enjoys this varied role. The part of her job she loves the most is interacting with our clients and their pets.

Paulette is an expert at dental x rays, and has been enjoying teaching our team and students how to do them ๐Ÿฆท Any patient that needs to come in for a groom, will get done by Paulette. NZVNA
