I have seen on reddit and across the internet the question posed of - if an animal wore pants, how would they wear them?

Fear not, I have the answer…and it comes from nature itself!

Belted Galloway cattle have provided us with it! Having a belt across its middle, animals could only wear pants on their rear legs.

So now you know - but what is a - like my beloved they are native to Scotland (Galloway in fact!)
They have adapted to living on harsh terrain and while primarily bred for meat, they are also amazing at conservational grazing - or like our , because of their compact size, make excellent hairy lawnmowers, or

The question answered, and now you know more about the beautiful belted Galloway too 😊

Goodbye Swedish sauna, hello scandi chic!

Our back hall is long and lacking light- changing the dark brown carpet and wood walls to laminate and a fresh light paint has made a massive difference.

Just need to dress it up with some colourful artwork, most of which has been in storage since we moved nearly three years ago!

Well done - you have done an amazing job!

Playpen chickens!

The neighbour was having trees felled behind the house, to keep the ladies safe from falling branches and the noise of the chainsaw, they had a temporary home made on the front lawn for the day.

All safely back in their house now, minus the trees!

The two lawnmowers…

1. Both cost money to maintain 🐮 🚜
2. One cuts 🚜 and one munches the grass 🐮
3. One is easy to direct to get straight lines 🚜
4. One can’t get into the edges well 🚜 the other excels in keeping the grass down (especially fence lines) 🐮
5. One has a complimentary fertiliser service 🐮
6. One is more economical than the other….

The truth is, we wouldn’t be without either!

Autumn has arrived!

A bit miserable, followed by a lot of rain - with the temperatures dropping….at least it gives the grass a good water!

Before, during and after….

The vege beds were a little bit out of control after being more than a bit neglected lately.

An hour of manpower from , pulling the old, adding compost and chicken fertiliser and we are good to go for autumn veg.

While the rain is usually unwelcome, it has ensured a good watering for these beauties

Sensible bites sweepy!!

Whilst clearing the vege beds we found a couple of rogue cabbages which had been badly attacked by white butterfly - the inpatient moo was more than happy to get rid of them for us!
