Little Country Bears - Toy Poodles, Cavoodles & Spoodles DNA and Health Testing is a priority before breeding any of our dogs. Then comes TEMPERAMENT and Training. Looks are important also 😆 Smiles.

The dogs are fit, and healthy and DNA checked for predisposed hereditary conditions. They are happy and well socialised, fed top quality food. They are cuddled and loves and all live as our pets. The dogs have loads of exercise, numerous different areas to relax in, depending on the weather, the temperature and the situations on the day. They are all inside in the evening then sleep in individual

beds for the night. Dogs recover from earlier litters than later litters in any veterinary article I have read. The fitter and healthier they are, the better. There is nothing like THE LOVE, of a calm, well behaved, healthy, beautiful dog. TEMPERAMENT, HEALTH AND LOOKS ARE ALL EQUALLY AS IMPORTANT. This requires time, knowledge and dedication. I believe in "NATURAL MATING", after one year of age with all breeding finished before they are 6 years of age. There are no more than 2 litters in an 18-month period. It's all-natural and monitored. Everything we do is transparent and visitors are welcome. From time to time, we sometimes look after other peoples dogs that we have either bred or got to know really well. IT REALLY IS A DOGS LIFE around here.

HEY 🤪... ENJOY THE WEEKEND EVERYONE.
House visits are all done early this week. Really do enjoy visitors and seeing puppies we have breed, but sometimes it's feast or famine and this week has been a feast .

Life is returning to routine and actually I'm pretty pleased. It's been crazy here with so many people (and dogs) coming and going.

The horse we got a couple of weeks ago, I ended up taking him to the dentist on Cust then back to Cheviot on Tuesday ... Massive dental issues 🥺🥺🥴. Unfortunate. Something his previous owner needs to attend to... but it was an interesting day out and an unexpected 9 hours away.

An overnight trip to OAMARU to see mama ... and also a scenic tour around the back of Oxford as well as two trips to CHCH, so I've certainly done some miles.

Our First BlackHawk Order is Here. LITTLE COUNTRY BEARS are now BlackHawk Breeders.

I did extensive testing and have the videos, so I will post when I get to it. We tried about 8 different foods all at the same time, including Origin and of course our previous food, Royal Canin.

TRUTH... they only ate the Royal Canin as a last resort and/or when there was no other option!! Gods honest truth!

DID YOU KNOW... we have cats & kittens requiring new homes 😉. Adult cats are spayed and ready to go. We have decided to stick to breeding quality dogs...
I had thought we could do both but it is just too much. It's been a good experience and they are ABSOLUTELY stunning the kittens that we have bred. Best to do what we do and do it well... and my heart is with breeding dogs. ❤️‍🩹❤️❤️‍🩹

NEW YEAR. YAH...HOO ✅✅✅
Refreshing... a new start. 😁😜🤪
Still a few dogs boarding here but with complaints from the neighbours... It is definately not something we are continuing with. It changes the dynamics significantly here. Best to just stick with what we can do best... BREEDING AMAZING HEALTHY, WELL SOCIALISED, CALM TEMPERAMENT HONEYS. ❤️❤️❤️

We have ridden our new SPCA horse SHERLOCK and taken him to Waikuku. Farrier has been to tidy up his feet and cut away more CEEDY TOE, so to they improve, he's resting. My farrier told me about this house Benjamin, who was looking for a new home. Good reason for a trip to Cheviot today.

Seriously I don't need much encouragement with a new idea. I do need to find homes for the kittens though. Not sure why I have not got around to listing them...

CHRISTMAS IS A STRANGE TIME OF YEAR. SO MANY EXPECTATIONS IF WE WATCH TOO MANY CHRISTMAS MOVIES 🥴🙄😏

It's a nice time to connect with people we often don't. Even if only by phone.

My ex father in law rung this morning and that was definately the highlight of my day. I didn't see either of my son's. One I expected not to see as he's away ... and the other is a bit grumpy because we wouldn't let him climb and cut down some trees with a chain saw WHILE WE WERE OUT!!!. They are like a good 30m high!!! And he has just turned 19.
ARBORISTS are trained and skilled. It's a VERY DANGEROUS occupation. 😐

It's my first Christmas without my boys at home, no presents under the tree... saved the last minute wrapping I guess 🤣. On the positive, there is no drama and there is definately no stress.

Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals. If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.

Thank you to everyone who follows me and watches the videos and posts. I do so enjoy meeting everyone that comes here and appreciate the families that make contact with regards to our puppies. I love making the videos and hope our dogs give some joy.

Do keep grounded - nothing is perfect.

THE LAST WEEK HAS BEEN A BLUR OF PAINTING AND I'M LOVING THREE RESULTS ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 ... MANY DOGS COMING AND GOING... NEW PUPPIES... Born and brought in.

DOGS AND CATS have been neutered. I still feel I am at the vets every other day. Only the one cat left to neuter with the younger kittens...

TEDDY the dog I didn't breed, with the stomach surgery went home last week.
LOLA was rehomed.
CINNAMON & ABBIE are still here. Cinnamon is awesome. Abbie still doesn't listen.
LUCY & PÉPÉ are here now also and both have easy loving nature's.

There are a few more did coming and going over the holiday break.

I have been charging $30 a day for boarding. Generally there aren't many at the same time. Definately putting this up to $50 per day at the start of next year. It's just too time consuming having other dogs here and the responsibility.

I HAVE HAD MORE THAN MY SHARE OF PROBLEM BOARDERS SO SORRY EVERYONE. It feels overwhelming for little reward at $30.

If I've okeyed $30 for one/$50 for 2, that remains. But will renegotiate anything after January. Bringing in new dogs changes the dynamics.

$30 is neither here or there these days. $50 is workable.

Hi there! Just wanted to touch base to say Coco... (born 27th September to VIENNE & HARRY) ... is doing amazing - she’s still sleeping all night and staying dry.
She finished puppy school last week, she was quite confident considering she was much smaller than the other dogs but it was more about spending time and doing the training with a little socialising at the end.
Bear and Coco are total besties and it’s nice they have bonded so well.
Anyway hope you have a nice Xmas and you have had a chance to enjoy your new horse ❤️

I have 12/13 dogs normally. It's 12 at the moment and there are 5 extra on holiday. Pépé left today (that was a quick week) so there are more planned to come and some to go. This is the reality of what it's like. A lot 🙄 ON THE GOOD NOTE. Another Christmas behind us! ROLL ON A HAPPY NEW YEAR. I KNOW I'M ALL ABOUT CHANGES THIS YEAR 😹😂😊
