As we remember those who gave their lives in the quest for freedom. I also remember the thousands of dogs, horses and other animals who were fearless in War. Trained to seek out wounded solders, Red Cross Dogs, bomb dogs, horses carrying soldiers. It was never their war but their unwavering loyalty took them to war. 🙏

One of the most beloved items in the Auckland War Memorial Museum's collections belonged not to a serviceperson, but to a canine hero.

I'm looking for people who may like a 30hr week job. We can make it work around childcare or school hours with different shift options.

Please see the post below from Paws - Restart . I will be taking the ute over with any of the donations listed below on Wednesday. If anyone on our beautiful Island can help with this devastating situation please drop off goods listed in the post to us at 8 Beatty Parade Surfdale on Monday or Tuesday and I will load it up and take to Kumeu. Please don't drop of anything they haven't asked for and please only things in usable condition. Thanks everyone. We all need to help where we can 🙏💔😥

There is so much heartache and so much pain out there in our communities. People have lost their lives, families have lost everything, businesses will never open again. The devastation is beyond some of our comprhension. Sitting here crying about what has happened is not helping anyone, so this is what we can help with. New Zealanders are known for their giving nature and so I ask you to please help us help the communities in need, for those of us who have not been badly affected we need to count our blessings and give where we can. We are doing a collection for the Hawkes Bay community for all the small animals in need. We are taking advice from on what is needed and will be working closely with them on logistics. We are also working with Rodney Animal Rescue who are taking in donations for large animals and vet supplies. Due to the urgency of their need we are leaving Auckland on Sunday at some time, so we only have today and tomorrow to collect donations.

Drop off for Kumeu will be at the end of Pinotage place, trailer at the end ready for collection. Tania Dicks-Maurice

Cat and dog treats.
Crates, playpens.
Rescue remedy.
Large storage containers with sealable lids.
Disposable gloves.
