Thank you to all who came and supported our Fundraiser Show today - what a great day out!
We appreciate the time given by our judges, stewards and volunteers from our User Groups as well as friends and family members of competitors.

Special thanks to Tasman District Councillor Jo Ellis who is a member of the Rough Island Equestrian Park Management Board (photo with Tina Coppins & “Mr Cricket” ).

We have a number of stall holders, BBQ and coffee cart so even if you haven't entered please do come along! We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you tomorrow! Funds raised are going towards our approved infrastructure project of building a Round Yard.

Rough Island fundraiser show entries, have been left open for a couple more days but will close at 9pm Saturday.

Rough Island AGM will be held on the 14th of August, 7pm at Amardillo’s.

We have had some questions about the show,
First trade/second hand gear stands, just pay the 1 m square, but we will give you what ever space you need
We are adding a couple of classes to lead rein and first ridden ring as this ring did not offer the kids as many classes, sorry that was an oversight, they will now have a unity class each
Novice classes are for those who have not won 6 firsts in open classes at A&P level, height certificates are not required for this show, and you can any height in the lead rein first ridden classes, for the barrel racing and cowboy challenge riders can be on the lead but not for the derby.

Treescape will be working on taking out some dead trees tomorrow (friday 6th) at the park. Please stay clear of the working areas and consider your horse may not like the sound of trees being felled.

Hi Riders. I hope I can clear up the parking issue at the new trail ride at Rabbit Island. As this is an old image it doesn’t show the trail but the red line is a rough indication where the trail is and the green outline I’ve add in is the parking area. It’s big, big enough for many floats and trucks. You are free to park on the grass. Please remember to stay on the trail and out of the forest. If you don’t you’ll ruin it for everyone. Happy riding. Cross country working bee Sunday October 20th 10am
We need to get some of the rotten logs replaced. We need the following:
removing the old rotten logs,
Removing staples from donated treated poles
lifting new poles into place and placing ground lines
fixing wire and staples to hold new poles

Painting jobs
Waterblasting jumps to remove old paint and leave a fresh surface to be painted, Can be done anytime. You will need a waterblaster and power.

Once Jumps are prepped they can be painted, however first we need some paint. If you have anything you can donate let me know. We need some white to create highlighted jumplines, Natural shades and some stronger colours. Paint must be suitable for outdoor use on timber.

Carpentry skills
Some portable jumps need some alterations to make them gentler on horses that dont always get things right. Please get in touch if you think you can help.
