Another apology for being super useless with emails and accounts.

Over the past 10 days Archer, our 4 year old has been in tremendous pain which resulted in urgent surgery on Saturday morning. Seeing your child in that much pain is just heartbreaking.

He is doing better now and getting plenty of snuggles from his Ruby dog. After just catching up on admin tasks and emails from Hunters surgery 3ish weeks ago? we are now very behind again. Anything that isnt priority has just had just wait sorry as my babies have needed me through their healing.

Once again thanks to mum (Ann), Gary, Terri, Emma and Sara for keeping everything ticking along nicely with the beautiful and happy pets we have in at the moment.

Thanks also to everyones well wishes, help and support.

We will see everyone this week as usual 😵‍💫🙃

We are really excited to announce a collaboration with The Pet Food Pantry to bring you our first Xmas Pet Food Drive! 🎉

Today marked the day of installation of our "Paw Pantry."

The Pet Food Pantry has been operating for coming up 6 years, the last 3 in the Waikato. Chloe works tirelessly to provide primarily food, but toys, beds, and blankets to pets, owners, and rescue organisations who are doing it tough!

HOW IT WILL WORK:
From now until the 20th of December, during your booking, you can drop off food canned or kibble (NO raw meat, please) or good quality bedding and toys to the onsite Paw Pantry🙏🐶

Alternatively, anyone can drop off at our Kennels facility office during our opening hours.

MON-FRI 7.30am-9am 4pm- 5.30pm
SAT 10am-11am
SUN 3pm-4pm

The last day for drop off to Paw Pantry will be the 20th of December. This will give us time to get everything together ready for The Pet Food Pantrys Xmas drop-off run on the 23rd/24th.

We would love for our awesome Adventure Park, Kennels, and K9 School community to jump on board with this initiative and help give back ❤️

One of our K9 school dogs has gone missing from his home on Waring road (Rural Gordonton/Taupiri).
His name is Tom. Could possibly have been spooked by fireworks 😭 Please keep an eye out for our little guy.

On Sunday afternoon our wee bubba injured his finger and had to have surgery on Tuesday. This means we are super behind on admin and emails. Not to mention sleep deprived so please excuse my  uselessness!

Its quiet typical for us to have a mass influx of emails to respond to after holiday weekends. People tend to sit down to plan their next trip away especially as summer nears however little Mr Hunter didnt help by adding to the chaos!

Thank you so much to all of our clients for being so understanding this far and those that have made offers to help and checked in on him and us. We are so lucky to have you all.

We again apologise for the delay in responses, we are just trying to stay afloat this week and get through 🙃

To be honest after this year, I'm quite looking forward to 2025 🤣

This is really devastating.

We have just spent $$$ on lawn care, seeding and fert for people to do this.. As said in the post if this continues the only access to the park will be through our main facility and we will close it.

NOTICE

*CHRISTMAS BOOKINGS*

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to those who have paid for their booking or have been in contact with us. This notice does not apply to you.

Over the past four weeks we have sent out our Christmas invoices along with the instruction to respond to the email so that we know you have received it.

This is our way of ensuring that you have checked the booked dates on the invoice and that the booking is also still required. We do this to avoid last-minute cancellations from between now and the 20th that we then have very limited time to deal with.

So far we have only heard back from approximately 6 of you out of around 30 people.

PLEASE email us today by the end of the day if you havent recieved your invoice or if you have recieved it and havent replied yet.

A quick "YES" recieved, saves me hours of unnecessary time on admin - I would much rather be spending time with the dogs and cats 🤣

This notice also serves as a reminder that the payment is due on the 20th otherwise the bookings are cancelled and offered to others waiting.

Because of the muck around this has caused us for the past two years we will now be enforcing a compulsory deposit at the time of securing your Christmas space.

If you are needing to secure your space for Christmas 2025 please get in touch.

Again, a huge thank you to those who have been in touch or paid!

Someone has run out of fuel and left the car in our driveway. Please be very careful when pulling in this morning as we do not need any accidents on what is a high speed and wet road.

**CHRISTMAS BOOKINGS**

I will be sending out Invoices for this period over the coming days.

Below are some instructions for those of you that have bookings over this period.

Please acknowledge that you have received the invoice by emailing us back with confirmation.

Check that the dates we have recorded within the invoice are correct for your booking and that you have planned dropping and collecting your pets within the hours noted in the invoice.

Email us as soon as possible with any questions, changes or extensions. Extensions to your original booked dates are first come first served, we may not be able to cater to extensions if you leave it until the last minute.

**PAYMENT**
It can be paid via Bank transfer or Cash prior to the due date - We do not operate EFTPOS. To secure this booking it must be paid before the 20th October 2024. If you are aware that you no longer require your booking, please let us know when you receive the invoice email, DO NOT JUST IGNORE IT.
The booking will be cancelled on the 23rd of October if payment has not been received. We will not be following up for payments past the 20th.

**VACCINATIONS**

We have a STRICT 14 day standdown after vaccinations have been administered. Ensure you organise around this as we will not take pets that fall within this standdown period.

**BELONGINGS**

- BEDDING; A familiar smelling blanket/bed. We have bedding available however we find that dogs are often a lot more settled with their own especially if they are staying for a longer period.

- DIET; Their normal diet in a named/sealed containers or bags with the amounts written clearly for staff if you have not pre-portioned them. Please make sure you pack more food than what you would usually feed in case we need to increase your pet’s food intake due to them receiving more exercise than they would at home.

- RAW FOOD; you must let us know in your response email if you have any frozen items so we can ensure we have enough freezer space for all pets. They MUST be in sealed “leak proof” containers and be easy for us to be able to portion out if not already pre-portioned.

- MEDICATIONS; All medication MUST be in the original prescribed packaging from the vet with administration instructions clearly written by the vet. Please update us if you pet has received any other medication 30 days prior to arrival. Some medications cannot be administered in conjunction with or within 30 days of each other and therefore if your pet requires vet treatment we need to be aware of what they have had in the last 30 days.

- HEALTH HISTORY/ PET INFORMATION; Please update us with your pets information/health history via email or fill in the booking form on our website to update your pets full information with us. Ensure we have an updated emergency contact and updated phone numbers on file by including this in your response email.

- TOYS AND CHRISTMAS PRESENTS; Any toys or presents provided will stay within your pet’s space for us to keep track of belongings. Please note that sometimes blankets and smaller toys can get pulled through by your dogs’ friends, so it is best not to send anything of high sentimental value. It doesn't happen often but has happened previously. PLEASE write a list of all items provided to us and including this list with their belongings at drop off. This can help us to ensure that when your pet is ready to be collected, we have absolutely everything accounted for and returned to you.

- RAWHIDE; Chews containing rawhide will not be fed to pets in our care as they are dangerous. Natural chews and treats are recommended, and your pets will sure appreciate a little surprise snack when on their break time during the day.

-Your dog doesn’t require food bowls, brushes etc. It is best these items are left at home.

When arriving to drop and collect your pets please wait at your vehicle. Keep your pets inside the vehicle until we are ready to serve you. DO NOT ENTER the facility at your own accord. We will be with you shortly.

We have strict open hours and penalty fees will apply for turning up outside of these hours. Pets will not be released or admitted outside of these hours. This is our family home and we have the right to the peace and quite enjoyment of our home/family outside of our designated hours.

Entering the property outside of hours or at random without a booking will not be permitted.

Last week, we were approached by a group of students from a local school seeking assistance with their business studies project. They have initiated a venture selling handmade dog toys made from upcycled fabric, and our K9 School team thoroughly enjoyed testing them.

This took me back many years to when I completed a similar school business studies project in which our team took a clean win! It was alot of fun to be apart of and provided me with strong foundations for setting up this place! I even looked back on my notes from that particular year when starting WBKC back in 2020!

Please take a moment to read through our most recent notice to our clients.
We have implemented some changes to our boarding prices effective for bookings from 25 September onwards.
We also have some pretty exciting new additions to our services which we will be looking at sharing more information about over the approaching weeks.
