Looking forward to heading to the coast for the weekend to help out at a fundraising trek for Eastern Bay of Plenty Riding for the Disabled with the team Bay Of Plenty Horse Adventures
If you're in the area and keen for a trek down the beach it's a great chance to go for a ride and support a great cause.

See you there!

I've been working on a pretty cool break-in during my spare time over the last month. This one is special because it's for my boys.

Today, it was awesome to bring him home and have my eldest son take his first sit and a short walk around on him. He was just as excited about it as I was.

My main horse is a half-brother to this one and I can't wait to be riding together on them over the next few years.

A productive day of training for this big fellow! We started with a quick grooming session, saddled up, and warmed up in the round pen. Afterward, we headed to the arena for a good training session and wrapped up with a ride out around the farm, including a big canter up the hill.

These outings are crucial for the horses as they become more comfortable with various environments and situations through their training.

It's safe to say that more horses have been ridden this year than social media posts shared! Better late than never, I'm here to share some updates from the year to date.

I've had a great variety of horses come through for their initial training, and I enjoy seeing their progress throughout their time with me. It's also great to hear of their progress in the following months as they continue their training across various disciplines or the joy they are bringing to their owners.

Additionally, I’ve had a few horses in for ongoing training, and they are starting to show promise and I hope to see some good results in the show arena next year.

Due to my other work commitments as an AI technician, I'll be occupied for most of the remaining year. However, I'm looking forward to returning to the horses later in December and starting a fresh round of training in January. If you're considering having your horse started next year, please reach out, as slots are filling up quickly throughout the year.

As 2022 comes to an end it's great to look back over some of the starters from throughout the year and what was the start of Trig Horsemanship and doing what I love as a profession.
Looking forward to the first round of 2023 horses arriving in the next few weeks with a promising line up already for the year ahead with the next available spots not until June.
Thanks to those who have supported me this year, it's been great.

The next generation of Gregory horsemen coming up the line.

I'd follow my Dad around on horses as a boy and now my little fella comes out on rides with me. He's also never to far from Grandpa's side watching him train and ride too.

Utah came in for some schooling. With a fair bit of ground work and regular riding he has come a long well and will make a nice quiet horse for my client and her niece to enjoy. He even made an appearance at a kids birthday today.

Welcome, I'm Joel Gregory of Trig Horsemanship. I am an experienced Western Horse rider with years of showing in Cutting and Western disciplines nationally with high accolades including Youth World Champion and Open Non Pro National Champion.

With the passion for riding and being around horses starting at a very young age has meant that I have had the opportunity to work closely with trainers including my father and solo over the years with Horses from first handling and rides through to training and showing at a high level. This has cemented the knowledge and passion to offer this at a professional level.

Working with a variety of horses I can offer initial handling and starting through to training in preparation for a range of disciplines. Being based in Taupo makes for a central location and easy access for riders and horse owners across the North Island.
