We went for a ride from the camping ground near Port Taranaki along the coastal walkway then inland to Lepperton for lunch.
49km return with a stop for the photo opportunity at the bridge framing Mt Taranaki. Happy day.

Sorry, confusion reigns.
The discounted price on the Series One is indeed $239.00. The text I sent my web manager was wrong. All corrected now. I have nine at this price plus 4 display stock that are unused and assembled so will have to be collected from my home. $200 each for these.

Series Two Buddyriders are now on the website.
Good news is that the price remains unchanged.
The original Buddyrider is reduced by $40 to $249 and they remain an excellent product. Many hundreds of happy kiwi cyclists using them. I have 10 remaining so a great chance pick one up.

There's a lot of interest in the new Series Two Buddyrider. The adjustable paw deck is the most impressive allowing fine tuning to how your pet likes to ride. The lower position will be great for long backed breeds like Miniature Dachshunds.
It has a greater range of fitting the basket to the support arm, and the receiver is now shaped on both sides to grip the seatpost better.
Best of all, the price remains unchanged.
I have a dozen Series One remaining in stock and am offering them at $50 discount.
Both items will be on the website in a couple of days.😁

Spent 4 days at Opotiki and rode the dunes trail. 22km from the motorcamp return. An easy rolling trail following the coast to the East. Beautiful views and pristine weather as we rode it twice this week. Thorough recommended

Series Two Buddyrider has arrived and replaces the original product.
Main points are:-
The seat itself remains unchanged and maximum recommended weight remains 11.5kg. The existing cushion fits both.
The paw deck is now fully adjustable to suit your dog's riding preference.
There's more adjustment when fitting the seat to the post and the bolts have been upgraded.
The receiver is now shaped on both halves to fit the seat post more snuggly. Have a look at the photos!

My new Buddyrider stock arrived today. 140 units of the new Series Two that has some small improvements on the original Buddyrider. I will assemble one tomorrow and take some photos showing you the changes.
Pricing of the new stock yet to be fixed once I have the shipping invoice. Hopefully little change if any.
I have 10 units of my old stock and will special these out.
And FINALLY I have received my cushions ordered and paid six months ago. They are back "In Stock " on the website.
Hope you've been out riding and making the most of our Indian Summer. Kathy and I took the caravan down to Napier a month ago and rode 65km around the wineries loop and 48km return out to Clifton at the base of Cape Kidnappers. Lovely Cafe at Clifton.
Last Saturday we joined a group ride on the TeAwa River ride 54km return from Hamilton Gardens to Cambridge
We hope to head across to Opotiki next week and ride some of the Motu trails
With Truffle of course.

We finally got away in our caravan staying 3 nights at Taupo. Rode 80kms over two days in both directions out of Kinloch. W2K then K2K. Yesterday's included a hop between two bays to rejoin the track for the last 10km back to the car. Truffle did an impressive number of kms running ahead of the track. The complexity of the tracks meant we rode at Fox Terrier speeds. When she slowed it was back in the Buddyrider for a few more kms. Lunch stop at lakes edge required continuous retrieving of a stick. When we got back to the car she still wanted to chase her ball!
She did sleep well both nights, as did we.

Christmas is upon us and summer is finally arriving. Time to get out on those trails with your Pedal Pal. Buddyriders are a popular gift this year and there's a steady stream of them heading away with the courier. I have plenty of Buddyriders in stock and NZ Post Courier usually gets them to their destination within 24 to 48 hrs of dispatch. Unfortunately I have run out of cushion inserts whilst I impatiently await delivery of my order placed two months ago. I mean, Sydney's not that far away!!
Wishing my customers a wonderful Christmas season and safe and happy cycling adventures over the summer.😊

Celebrated Labor Day by riding the Redwoods Forest Loop at Rotorua. Third time we've done it and a lovely grade 2 to 3 trail with beautiful scenery.
It's dog friendly and Truffle had several gallops ahead of us. Took 2.5hrs including lunch stop with views of the Green Lake through the redwoods as per photo.
We recommend this trail to all.

Rode 47kms from home to Omokoroa return. Truffle able to run along side when safe to do so.
A bit of rain on the way home but still warm. My ebike has a horrible stand and I propped the bike under the stand to take the photo. The bike promptly fell off the stand and landed on it's side. Truffle untouched and probably was thinking WTH!!
Another example of how well protected your pedal pal is in a Buddyrider

Today was "Dog's Day Out" at Tauranga Racecourse. Despite a dubious forecast, the day was a cracker with doggie demonstrations, and all things doggie. Just a fun day out. I set up a display and had lots of interest. Truffle was a star and enjoyed the attention.
The weather is coming right and increasingly small dog owners are discovering the freedom of Buddyriding with their fur babies.
We will be getting out on the trails and hope to catch some of you.
Happy summer all you pedal Pals.

It's Truffles 4rth birthday today. She's soaking up the sun here in Oamaru where we are visiting my dear mum.
Happy birthday dear wee doggie.
Ebikes are in Invercargill, caravan in Dunedin, Kathy in Tauranga. I make my way back North early March. We intend returning to the caravan for three weeks over the school holidays in April and catch up with more riding then.

Another familiar image. This one's Manapouri. 29 degree day for a ride, a swim for us all. Truffle will retrieve sticks all day long then take some coaxing to come along when it's time to head home.
Big thanks to Stephanie and her lovely family who looked after Truffle whilst we walked the Routeburn. She had a lovely 3 days and was spoiled. Talia treated her like her own. Wonder why she wants to be a vet.
We finally have rain today, a gentle patter compared with up North.
Some advice from PedalPals, when Met Service predict an LA Nina summer, book your holiday first the South Island!

Another 31 degrees day, this time in Te Anau. We rode 40km today down the Lake to Lake trail that runs between Te Anau and Manapouri. Only went 2/3rds of the full distance as wanted to save our legs for the Routeburn track in 2 days time. The track follows the beautifully clear Wairau river. We stopped and fished several locations. Kathy hooked and lost one. It's difficult to fish as Truffle screams with excitement with every cast !!

Quite a weather contrast with the Southerly coming through last night. Temp drop to 15 degrees and skiffy rain. Not the downpour the North is having yet again! We drove Clyde to Arrowtown and rode 27km loop to the bungee bridge return as per photos. But Truffle got to ride and run today. Happy dog. We are now tucked up in the Te Anau Top10 holiday park with blue skies. Doesn't get dark until 10.

Stunning 31 degrees day today. We cycled the Roxborough Gorge trail. 10km to where jet boat takes you another 12km down the lake, very educational on the gold mining times in the mid 1800s and took an hour. Then 12km to end at Roxborough dam. But then the last leg into the town and shuttle pickup was 12kms. So rode 34km in total. Good to be back in the van with a cold one. Truffle was well behaved at Vetora again but pleased to see us. She would have loved to come with us.
