Happy Easter to you all in the Greater Bay Area. We are open right through to 8 a.m. on Tuesday Morning. Please remember to keep chocolate well away from your canine fur kids. Seek vet assistance quickly if you suspect your fur kid has indulged..we have a full team on all of this Easter Break for any of your pet emergencies. Enjoy the break and most of all enjoy family, friends and fur or feathered friends. 😊

Can you believe it... It's our 1st Birthday today! One whole year has passed for us here in the Bay area. Thank you to all the Clinics for your support. And to all our lovely clients we have seen over the last 12 months. To be able to be here and support you and your beloved fur families through tough times is a privilege.
Our staff... well we might be biased but what a great bunch of highly skilled dedicated humans you are. Such an awesome team. See you all same place and time next year for birthday number 2!

We are receiving reports of kororā/little blue penguins washing ashore weak and exhausted in the Bay of Plenty. This little one is severely underweight and they are likely starving due to the high sea surface temperature, which means it's harder for them to find food especially fledglings who are leaving the nest for the first time and learning to hunt 🐟

Please call 0800 SICK PENGUIN for Western Bay of Plenty or 0800 DOC HOT for advice if you spot a penguin on the beach during the day. Please give these birds space and dogs on leads on beaches 🥰

Today all the staff are grateful... we received this lovely card from Madi who attends Omanu School in the Mount. Her class Room 2 made thank you cards for essential workers. We are so grateful she remembered us. Our staff have gone above and beyond doing extra shifts to get our clinics through some tough times when so many were unwell and unable to work. Thank you so much Madi. We love it.

Morning BOP

Tomorrow our clinic will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to a power outage. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience but Power Co need to do some work. Please contact your local vet during these hours, we are all working together to make sure if you do have an emergency, vets are available elsewhere. Enjoy the sunshine today as the wet weather is back from tomorrow.

Update on our wee puppy at vet's

She spent a 2nd night at Bay After Hours Veterinary Hospital and she is improving but still not out of the wood's so been transfer to our amazing Koru Vets where she will stay on iv fluids and be assess to if spend another night under care.

Huge thank you to the awesome staff at Bay After Hours Veterinary Hospital for their amazing care of our puppies 🐶

While checking on the rest of the litter sunday and doing their fluids we notice a 2nd puppy wasn't doing great so she has also been at after hour's vet's over night and transfer to our vet's this morning.

We deal with a lot of worm burden puppies but this season seems to be so bad and there seems to be a couple of each litter needing medical care 😔

It breaks our heart's seeing such tiny puppies fighting so hard to live 😭

On Friday night we had the wonderful Tosh come in to donate blood so we could perform a live saving blood transfusion on another patient.

Delilah came in to visit tonight after eating some grapes! Did you know grapes and raisins are toxic to dogs? If left untreated, dogs may suffer kidney failure, which can be fatal. If your dog eats a grape or raisin, take action fast and call your veterinarian who will recommend inducing vomiting and possibly blood tests and intravenous fluids
