It's taken me a while to be able to write this post. Quality Dog Training was put on hold for the last 5mths. Due to an extremely tough time, with loosing both my beautiful boys (Cosmo & Astro) within a 4mth period. Both with different fast growing tumors that took them way too quickly. It's been difficult to focus and be able to give my clients 100% of me, so it was best to take a break.
I miss you all and am now looking at course dates to start up in March. Also I have started taking appointments for one on one consultant as well. Look forward to hear from you. ❤️

It's been a hard and busy start to the year for The Quality Dog Training team. We have finally started our shed conversation so not too many more months living in the caravan.
Then we will be back up to running our popular courses. We are still able to do afew one on one classes. Drop me a message if you require any further information for these.

Got to do a second training with Rocky, his very cute little sister and mum today. Reinforcing commands in lots of different areas and with as many distractions as possible. They did a great job, you both should be very proud.

Cosmo being such a good boy and eating his vegetables.
My dogs love vegetables, anything getting old in the fridge or leftovers they get. Carrots, broccoli, colli, pumpkin and afew others. I do check first that it's a vegetable that's suitable for them to eat and if its cooked, I am mindful of anything on it.

I have decided to hold off starting dog training course until we start dropping in numbers from the Covid 19 outbreak at the moment. Looking at starting up the beginning of April. I am still doing one on one's or a small private group. Message me for more information.

My two clients from the other day. Great one on one work from them and there owner. I love working with the Real Dog equipment collars. They are so good for small and large breed dogs alike.

It's corn season, even though corn isn't toxic for your dog. The cobs can't be digested and you will need to dispose then so your dog can't get them. If your dog often get into your rubbish bin inside, then put them straight into your outside bin.

Happy 2022, hope you and your 4 legged friends are having a fantastic summer. We are not training over January, but I am still working in my full time job. Enjoying time at the river and the beach with Astro and Cosmo.
Please be aware of the ground temperature when you are taking your dogs anywhere in this heat.. We head out either early morning or later in the afternoon.

Are you familiar with the pavement test? 🖐

During hotter weather walking surfaces, such as the pavement, can absorb and retain a lot of heat!

Before you take your pet out for a walk make sure those pavements aren't going to burn or be uncomfortable! Place the back of your hand on the pavement and hold it for 5 seconds - if it's too hot and uncomfortable for your hand it's too hot for their paws! 🐾

My boy Astro who is 9yrs old, has been on and off lame for a little while now. On rest and confinement when he is bad (that he hated) Afew weeks ago I took him to work for a full lameness workup, xrays and a dental. Xrays showed nothing, workup was showing disconfort in right shoulder. So he is doing stretches and getting regular massages that he loves. See the video below 👇❤️ I also do his teeth regularly that has been really beneficial to his healthy teeth and gums.
Training your dog to be calm and relaxed is really important, especially in our more hyperactive breeds like mine. It make handling your dog easier for yourself and your vet or vet nurse.

Another fantastic basic beginners course finished tonight. Look how great Archie and his mum have done in just 4 weeks of training. Putting in the time has really paid off. Very proud.

Exciting news we are dropping to level 2 as of midnight Tuesday 7th September. I am already back at work, so I will I contact those whom are halfway though there course in the next few days. Then those on my waiting list you will be next. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. We will be following all guidelines under alert level 2.

Lockdown level 4 Day 12... Even though I didn't sleep well last night. I felt good this morning and headed straight outside for our walk. Afew spits but the weather held. It's been really great to have the time to get back into some training and I'm loving the time with the dogs. Have a fantastic Sunday guys and stay safe. Xx
