Introducing Chelsea
Chelsea joined the team in March this year, after graduating from EIT with a Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing. Based at our Brookfield Vet Centre, Chelsea is a welcoming presence for all clients and patients, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and a positive experience for our furry visitors. Chelsea’s love for animals extends to her personal life and she currently has a gorgeous Ragdoll named Ella.

Introducing Sheena
Sheena rejoined the Barkes Corner Vet Hospital & Brookfield Vet Centre team earlier this year, having previously been a long-term fixture in our nursing crew. Quick to roll up her sleeves and get stuck in, there is no job too big or small for Sheena who is always going above and beyond for clients, patients and co-workers alike. The team are very happy to welcome Sheena back, along with her many years of experience and can-do attitude. Sheena’s tri-pod rescue dog “Lucky” lives up to his name, enjoying his golden years with such a doting owner.

Introducing Michelle
Michelle joined the Barkes Corner Vet Hospital & Brookfield Vet Centre team in 2022. Having gained her qualifications in her homeland of England, Michelle has perfected her nursing skills in clinics across the UK, Australia, and NZ, bringing a wealth of knowledge to our nursing team. There's little Michelle hasn't seen, her calm approach to any challenge and caring disposition making her an asset to colleagues and patients alike.

Michelles's interest in post-operative care and pain management has led her to explore opportunities to provide further therapeutic services to patients, and she is soon to be a qualified Canine Remedial Massage therapist! Michelle is currently on parental leave after welcoming her gorgeous baby girl early this year and the team are looking forward to welcoming her back in 2025!

Introducing Anna
Anna joined the Barkes Corner and Brookfield team in 2021 and has become a vital member of the nursing team with her positive attitude and dedication to excellent patient care. Anna is a proven team player, always willing to take on extra and lend a helping hand where needed. Anna’s calming influence is always welcomed by our more nervous patients, her care perfected by her bonded pair of cats at home, Rusty and Crunchie.

Introducing Diane
Diane has been a member of the Barkes Corner and Brookfield team since 2020, bringing with her a dedication to providing exceptional patient care. With a Diploma of Veterinary Nursing, Diane has a special interest in surgical nursing and enjoys the weird and wonderful aspects of the role. Animals have always been a huge part of Diane’s life, contributing to her experience with a large range of pets, big and small. Outside of work, Diane enjoys exploring new walks with her furbaby, Harvey.

Introducing Kylie
Having been a part of the Barkes Corner Vet Hospital & Brookfield Vet Centre team for more than ten years, Kylie is sure to be a familiar face across both clinics. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Kylie is an integral member of the senior nursing team and is always willing to share her knowledge with junior nurses and students. Kylie is the first to jump in where needed and her many years in the clinic is reflected in her ability to ensures that the surgical day runs like clockwork. Luna, Kylie’s Rottweiler, is also always a welcome, happy presence in the clinic! Outside of work, Kylie is an avid competitor in crossfit and weightlifting both nationally and internationally, and has recently returned from competing in Fiji where she placed first in her division!

Introducing Donna
The newest member of our Barkes Corner Vet Hospital & Brookfield Vet Centre team is Head Nurse, Donna, who joined us in August this year. Holding a Diploma of Veterinary nursing, Donna brings fresh perspective, enthusiasm and exceptional leadership skills to her role. Her commitment to continued development and best practice care drives her leadership of the nursing staff and she is a welcomed addition to the team. Outside of work Donna enjoys her menagerie of animals, running, adventuring in her home on wheels and is counting down the days until her first grandchild arrives.

Celebration time🥳🥳🥳
This week is Vet Nurse Appreciation Week so today we took some time out to celebrate our nursing team. Our nurse's dedication, compassion and expertise are all essential to the wellbeing of your pets and the success of the Barkes Corner Vet Hospital & Brookfield Vet Centre.

Our nurses are the backbone of our clinic and for years have been providing the highest standard of care behind the scenes. From now on you can expect to see their faces more often and experience their excellent standard of care firsthand with our clinics introducing nurse consults.

Initially this will include services such as nail clips, suture removal, arthritis and allergy injections, and surgical admissions and discharges. We hope that you get behind our team of amazing nurses and support them in their journey of becoming more involved in the care of your pets. To start this journey off over the remainder of the week, we will introduce each of our nursing team and tell you a little bit more about each of their personalities.
