Had the pleasure of grooming Quinn, alongside her mum who is also a groomer. It took 7 hours to complete and was dark so we didn’t get an after pic 🤣🔥❤️ Was a true honour to have such an elegant dog for my first poodle groom. Such a beautiful dog, I’ve completely fallen in love with her and her sister Kira. Poodles are the most underrated breed. Smart, funny and even poised at times 🤣 They can be transformed into so many cool styles, including teddy bear that is understandably so popular atm. Quinn is also an agility dog and you can watch her be awesome at upcoming events ❤️❤️❤️

Handsome Ernie came in for his first groom today 🥰 I forgot to take pics but luckily Happy Hounds Walking Tauranga was there and snapped some shots at the beginning ❤️
We took our time so it was as stress free as possible and he did really well! A few more grooms and he will be a pro 😎

It usually takes around three grooms for dogs to settle I find. It’s all new and they don’t know me so my goal is to gain their trust. You learn their quirks and triggers and they learn I’m not going to be rough or hurt them. It takes time but is so worth it in the end ❤️🐾

Taking puppies to the groomer as soon as possible helps them get used to it.
Grooming is not only a pamper session, but a wee health check up at the same time. Ear, eye, feet, teeth and skin health are evaluated during grooming to ensure your fluffy buddy is happy and healthy 🥰

Matting is from not brushing. To be considered “brushed out” you should be able to run a fine comb through the coat to the skin with no snags. It’s completely avoidable hence why it is an extra charge when it comes to the groomer. It’s the same as going to the hairdresser and not brushing your hair in between appointments.
Brushing is a wonderful way to bond with your dog. It can take a lot of time but it’s so worth it in the end ❤️
