Companion Animal Our practice offers a full range of medical, surgical and diagnostic veterinary services for companion animals. Here are some examples of the services that we provide. •General Consultation. •Prescription and dispensing of animal remedies. •Annual animal health checks with full vaccination programs. •Puppy and kitten health checks and vaccination programs. •Puppy classes •Geriatric examinations, with advice on arthritis treatments and nutritional management. •Microchipping. •Radiography, we have full x-ray facilities with automatic film processors. •Ultrasound Pregnancy Scanning. •Blood testing for sick animals, performance animals, geriatric animals, therapeutic monitoring, pre-anaesthetic or wellness checks. •Surgery including routine desexing, orthopaedic repairs, abdominal and general surgery. •Dental and oral health management. •Diagnostic sampling such as smears, needle aspirates and biopsies. •Hospital care, including isolation for infectious disease and intensive care. •Certification for export to Australia/UK/USA. •Grooming, worming and flea treatment. •Behavioural Consultations. •Obesity advice and weight control programs. •Breeder Advice. •Euthanasia and cremation, including home euthanasia. •Home visits. •Nail clipping. •Flea and worm management. •Referral to veterinary specialists when appropriate. Production Animal We offer a full on farm consultation service which includes the following: •General medicine and surgery for sick or injured animals •Obstetrics: Calvings, lambings and unpackings! •Prescription and dispensing of animal remedies. •Whole herd and individual vaccinations, including advice on the most appropriate protocols, either for your commercial herd or flock, or your small “lifestyle” menagerie •Ultrasound pregnancy testing for cattle, deer and alpacas. •Manual pregnancy testing where ultrasound is unclear or impractical. •Reproductive advice and programmes for all classes of livestock including in-Calf training •Mastitis management and consultancy advice for dairy herds •Diagnostic blood sampling and testing. •TB testing for deer and alpacas. •Mineral Trace Element testing: blood testing, liver biopsy or through the meat works •Facial Eczema spore counting – this is a free service. Equine Our vets are very aware of the need to provide good equine health information to owners We offer: •Horses: consultations and visits for sick, lame, injuries, colics, vaccinations, worming, referral to equine specialists when required •Routine Dentistry •Lameness – in depth work-up including nerve blocks •Diagnostic X-rays •Tendon & Soft Tissue Scanning •Health Management Programs and Products •Vaccination Programs & Parasite Control Advice •Information About Equine Health
