Wilson, a much-loved visitor from a nearby office, arrived at our Te Puna clinic on a Monday morning seriously unwell. He was lethargic, off his food, and suffering from vomiting and severe diarrhoea.

Under the care of Vet – Dr Nore De Ridder, Wilson spent two days with us receiving fluids, medication, and lots of TLC. By Wednesday, his tail was wagging, his appetite was back, and by Thursday he was back on site stealing lunches like nothing had happened.

Simba arrived at our Te Puna clinic in a critical state after a traumatic injury.

With trouble breathing and multiple rib fractures, he needed urgent care from our team. What followed was a long road to recovery and a lot of love from his owner Kristy. Simba is now back to his curious, mischievous self! 💛

🦷 Did you know dental disease is one of the most common issues we see in cats and dogs? The tricky part? Most pets show no obvious signs—and many continue eating normally even with painful teeth, gum infections, or loose teeth. 😬

Often, dental issues are picked up during visits for completely different reasons. You might hear us say, “This isn’t why you’re here today, but Fluffy could really use a dental...” Because pets won’t just “open wide,” we need to examine their mouth under general anaesthesia, allowing us to check for hidden problems, take dental xrays and find issues below the gum line.

💡 Fun (and slightly scary) fact - In many cases, we only see 1/3 of the dental issues in the consult room. The rest are found under anaesthetic or with x-rays! The longer dental disease goes unnoticed, the more extensive (and expensive) the procedure becomes—sometimes taking up to 5 hours. That’s tough on your pet and your wallet. Regular dental check-ups = healthier, happier pets.✨

🌟 🦷 Another wonderful clinic to share a day doing in-clinic training!!!🌟 🦷

Dr. Crystal had the pleasure of spending the past Saturday with the innovative, friendly and totally passionate team of Mount Maunganui, Tauranga and Katikati Vets, at their beautiful Mount Maunganui facility!! We had a super intense day covering theory and practical training, which each and every person took in their stride and with great enthusiasm. In fact, the words “I love dentistry” were uttered by two of their wonderful nurses 😻👀🦷 which is absolute music 🎵 to our ears!

Thank you to all of these super wonderful vets for having us - it was so nice to meet some of our referring vets face to face and help build further skills in this wide and varied field 🥰♥️

Also… how cute is their notice board! We approve, guys 🤣✅✅🦷

Hope we can catch up again soon and please come visit us in the Waikato if you are ever this way!!
