A special treat for Gigi and El Bandolero this morning 💕. There is a holistic health model created by Sir Mason Durie called Te Whare Tapa Whā that relates as much to horses as humans. It focuses on having four equally strong walls of a whare/house for optimal health. These walls represent taha wairua/spiritual wellbeing, taha hinengaro/mental and emotional wellbeing, taha tinana/physical wellbeing and taha whānau/family and social wellbeing. Our connection with the whenua/land forms the foundation. This experience today provides all that and more for these horses (and riders) ✅ ✅✅. Such a reenergising experience (especially at the 15-second mark with the stingrays 😮😂) 💕.

We’re so very proud of our boy Gigi today winning at Te Aroha! Not a big boy but a massive heart and spirit, he came from an impossible spot for Ashvin Goindasamy to hit the target right on the line. Only his eighth start, this 4-year old (by Ghibellines out of Hilarious) has now won 2 on the trot. So happy for our Matijasevich Markwood Lodge whānau! 🇭🇷
