After riding as a jockey himself, he has trained professionally and very successfully for over 28 years. Jim has won all major races at Tauranga - The Bay Of Plenty Cup., Kiwifruit Cup, Japan Cup. Over 100 winners on the Tauranga on the local track. Driven. Natural horseman.

A special treat for Gigi and El Bandolero this morning 💕. There is a holistic health model created by Sir Mason Durie called Te Whare Tapa Whā that relates as much to horses as humans. It focuses on having four equally strong walls of a whare/house for optimal health. These walls represent taha wairua/spiritual wellbeing, taha hinengaro/mental and emotional wellbeing, taha tinana/physical wellbeing and taha whānau/family and social wellbeing. Our connection with the whenua/land forms the foundation. This experience today provides all that and more for these horses (and riders) ✅ ✅✅. Such a reenergising experience (especially at the 15-second mark with the stingrays 😮😂) 💕.

We’re so very proud of our boy Gigi today winning at Te Aroha! Not a big boy but a massive heart and spirit, he came from an impossible spot for Ashvin Goindasamy to hit the target right on the line. Only his eighth start, this 4-year old (by Ghibellines out of Hilarious) has now won 2 on the trot. So happy for our Matijasevich Markwood Lodge whānau! 🇭🇷

We’re very proud of our boy Gospodin in his run in Saturday’s WFA Waikato Stud Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa. After being a bit wide and back, he’s hit the line strongly for Kozzi Asano to run 5th with the third fastest last 600m and 400m, and the second fastest last 200m. He’s come through the race super and we’re excited about his next run. Fingers crossed it’s the Group 1 Tarzino Trophy in 2-weeks.
