Sonofabutcher and Casey picking up best turned out in race 1 at Trentham on Saturday.

We think this is a great way to appreciate the hard work the strappers of the horses do each and every day to ensure the horses are always turned out in impeccable order.

Race Results Trentham Saturday 22nd March

Race 1 - Sonofabutcher 9th (Chris Dell)

Got an interrupted run in the home straight which he had to stop and start when trying to make up ground, did well to finish only 4.4 lengths from them, needs to be stepped back up in trip.

Race 3 - Vittorio Veneto 6th (Chris Dell)

Unfortunately just to wet for him today, once he let his head go he floundered in the ground, still only beaten 3.9l. He’ll keep for another day, with better track conditions.

Both horses have pulled up super, happy and sound! Hoping for some better luck next time out.

Racing today at Trentham Saturday 22nd March

Race 1 - Sonofabutcher (Chris Dell)

Meets a competitive line up today as you’d expect for $65k, he’s been racing really well and deserves his chance at a nice race like this. Only query is dropping back in distance with the track conditions improving.

Race 3 - Vittorio Veneto (Chris Dell)

Huge run last start for second, meets a couple of rivals again but he’s very well and is a promising horse, expect him to go well on a big roomy track.

Paddock beckons promising galloper

Emerging as a highly promising horse Our Time successfully finished his first preparation of racing on a winning note on Friday with an easy win in the hands of Kelly Myers.
With the big weight of 60kg and an outside draw, Kelly took all bad luck out of the equation, we didn’t want a repeat of last start, he should have won, it was disappointing but he put the writing on the wall today that he is a very good horse, it was also pleasing to see Kelly back aboard who has now won both of his wins on him, unfortunately or fortunately Kelly was getting married in one of his runs and then was away in the South Island for the next, but we are thrilled with how well she gets on with the horse and pleased for her aswell as Sam Durant her manager who does a great job with her rides.

Our Time has been a stable favourite from day one, been well related to our successful racehorses Faithful Feat and Hiflyer, he’s had a couple of issues earlier on which is why he wasn’t seen as a 2 or 3yo, it’s been a blessing really, Time Tests have really started to fire and I think it’s because they have needed time. We have a few Time Tests in the stable and we really are impressed by them all.

Our Time will now head to the paddock for a well deserved break, he doesn’t like the firm firm tracks and hates the wet so he’ll get a good break now and be back in for some nice races after winter.

He is raced by Ian MacDonald and Peter Hart, owners who we have several horses for and they are great owners, they love their horses and it was a great thrill to see Peter on course to witness Our Time first past the post again.

A great result for our small stable, our staff do an amazing job with the horses, they are turned out in great order and the results are fantastic.

🥇 Our Time (Kelly Myers)

Exciting win by a very talented gelding, with the big weight he was ridden perfectly by Kelly, he was put in the race and took all bad luck out of the equation. He’ll now head to the paddock for a well deserved break.

Congratulations to the owners Hart/MacDonald Syndicate.

Also a massive thank you to the team at home with all your amazing work you all do. Very thankful to have such a good team around us.
