🚨 Limited Shares Available Left 🚨

Peter Lock Racing is pleased to offer for partnership — shares in this beautiful filly we bought at the 2024 Inglis Classic Sale, by the 2020 Golden Slipper winner FARNAN. He was a champion 2YO — a winner of five races at two, four at stakes level and $2.5 million in earnings. And he’s expected to have a very big influence on the track with his first crop of runners being group and stakes placed already.

This filly is out of a winning mare called FEELINGS who pedigree is boasted with several winners, notably with LONG LEAF who won 3 LISTED races as a 2YO, a GROUP ONE 4th in a SIRES PRODUCE and later as a 3YO a KARAKA MILLION 3YO LISTED 1600 winner. So this very good young mare FEELINGS, has been put to a very good young stallion FARNAN, which has produced an outstanding type of filly, eligible for all the Inglis Bonuses in Australia.

Extremely good pedigree, lovely filly, great price, and well worth having shares in!

She’s just returned into the stables now to commence her first preparation as a 2yo.

Note : this is an ownership opportunity not a lease.

Price AUD : $15k plus GST/travel to NZ.

Looking for an early XMAS present 🎁

Princess Jasmine no longer fits the profile of her current ownership group, so is now available to lease to race in a syndicate with Lock Racing.

Princess Jasmine is a 5yo Mare by Santono Aladdin out of She’s Insatiable a 6x winning mare who won the listed Metropolitan 2500m and 3rd in both the Wellington Cup 2400m and New Zealand Cup 3200m.

Princess Jasmine started out her career with Te Akau racing, she has had 10 starts for 3 5th placings. She is a 2x trial winner and majority of her raceday starts she has been featured in the stewards reports for being inconvenienced and trapped wide. She had a virus early on in this preparation which is why she under performed albeit she has never been beaten that far overall, her last 3 starts she should have won or finished in the top 3, but she was plagued by very poor rides, all 3 were on the synthetic track which she seems to have liked.

This mare has just resumed work after 6 weeks in the paddock, she won’t take long to come to hand and will be ready to be racing at Xmas time.

She is sound, correct, of good size (16.1hh) and ready for new owners to join us to have some fun.

Grab a group together and join the fun in a ready made racehorse without having to purchase outright.

How lucky are our racehorses 🫶🏼

A happy horse is a horse that will give you their all.
We strive to keep our horses happy and healthy, whatever that entails we do!

We are very fortunate to have this place so close by to utilise, it’s a great way to keep the horses fit but also keep their brains happy and relaxed.

Miss Balvenie absolutely loved her field trip today, she has been in Australia for all her racing career so definitely wouldn’t have seen the sights as she did today, which is so awesome to be able to provide these horses.

She was a star student accompanied by super pony Viktor Vegas.

If you have a horse needing a change of environment and scenery be sure to get in touch 🙌🏼

From that to this..

Pick of the Litter displayed a dominant performance on Thursday at Counties, winning by an increasing 2.5 lengths with Courtney Barnes on board.

With a new ownership group, mostly first time owners along with long time friends and clients were absolutely thrilled with the win. The 6yo Vadamos mare has been plagued with interruptions this whole preparation, with a virus early on being the main hindrance, we have tinkered with some gear, she’s such a big horse and wasn’t comfortable in amongst the field so the blinkers came off along with the tongue tie and she’s improved significantly.

We opted to send Pick of the Litter to Gina and her team at EventStars Ltd in between races to freshen her brain up and do something different with her which is a huge help with training racehorses, variety is key and we are lucky to be able to do these things with our horses. She enjoyed her short stint and came home with glowing reports.

She’s a mare we have always held in high regard, just circumstances have permitted her running better races, but I think we are on top of everything now and I don’t think we’ll see the best of her until next preparation and over even further than the 2100m.

Congratulations to the ownership group, R Blake, T Stowers, G Waterman, C Martin, W Robinson, A Koberstein, M Smedts, F Franzen, B Larsen & P Lock

And to the staff at home, big team effort and your hard work is truly being rewarded.

Race 2 : Dunstan Horsefeeds 2100

Pick of the Litter 🥇 Courtney Barnes

Very good win by Pick of the Litter today, huge thrill for her new ownership group to pick up the win, many of them being first time owners.
Aided by a great ride by Courtney, she won convincingly today.

Big thanks to the team at home for the tremendous job they are all doing, horses are looking great and results are coming in and also to the team at EventStars Ltd, Gina had Pixie at her place for a short period of time in between races, teaching her a new set of skills which I’m sure assisted in todays win, a big thank you 🙌🏼

Snow was happy to see one of his many girlfriends 🫢(Miss Balvenie) come home from the races this afternoon, after leaving him to fend for himself for 2 whole days 🤯 she was away earning money, while he was just lounging about eating all weekend, boys huh 😅

We won’t tell Miss Balvenie he’s got numerous GFs, she’s in love 🥰

Debit continues on winning way

Taking her record to 4 starts for 3 wins and a 3rd placing, Debit is putting together quite a handy form line. The lightly raced daughter of Darci Brahma dug deep to score on a track to heavy for beating smart rival Fancypants by 3/4 of a length. Lily Sutherland said she’s still doing things so wrong, plus the track wasn’t ideal for her so it’s pretty exciting to hear those sorts of comments, what’s she going to be like when she does put it all together.
It was a clever ride by Lily, she rode her with alot of confidence, she gave her a breather before the turn and put her in the best part of the track.

Was a great thrill to pick up another win for long time clients and friends Rod Conning and Trevor Sargent, especially at Trentham.

Debit will now likely head to the paddock for a small break, she’s been in a long time which unfortunately was interrupted by a stable virus. She’s a very good mare, she’s done everything we have asked this preparation so we’ll go out on a good note and we will have a smart mare for next time in which is exciting for the while stable.

Credit goes out to all my staff at home, you’ve all done a super job, the horses are all racing extremely well and looking great so this all couldn’t happen without you all.

Race Results Wellington Saturday 2nd of November

Race 4 On Track 1200

Debit 🥇 Lily Sutherland
Miss Balvenie 4th Toni Davies

Another nice win by Debit, she’s putting together a tidy record now and it was a good ride by Lily.

I thought Miss Balvenie went a really nice race, she wasn’t beaten far by 2 pretty smart horses and I think with the track a little better she will be right in it next start and Toni really gets on well with her.

Race 8 Feilding Hotel 1600

Footloose 5th Toni Davies

He tried super hard only beaten 3 lengths, he’ll head to the paddock now and come back in for next winter.

Very happy overall with the teams performances today, all ran really well and looked a picture.

Big thanks to the team at home, it’s great to keep bringing home these winners.

Miss Balvenie, Debit and Footloose have made the trip down to Palmerston North ahead of racing at Trentham tomorrow.

Nice and comfy as always in their Canter for Cancer rugs.

All have settled in very well, straight into dinner, so let’s hope we get to race tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Sonofabutcher looking a picture this morning on the treadmill. He’s not looking to bad for an 8yo, he enjoys his variety of work. We look forward to seeing him back at the races in the near future!

Snow man was on chief babysitting duties this afternoon with our sole trialler in Jungle Love.

There weren’t any tie ups for Snow on arrival but he was happy to park up anywhere with his mate.

Jungle Love finished a very nice 4th, her first trial back this preparation. Her grand mother Jungle Rocket won the NZ Oaks with none other than James Mc Donald on board. We can’t wait to see her make her race track debut in the near future 🙌🏼

On Sunday’s we swim 🏊‍♀️

Miss Balvenie, Footloose, Debit and Jungle Love enjoying a morning dip in the pool.

An excellent tool to use in addition to our training and the horses just love it.

Shez Shamus enjoying her Labour Day weekend out in the paddock after her second yesterday at New Plymouth.

Race Results New Plymouth 25th October

Race 5 - Badgeringdawitness 6th

A below par effort today, signs showing he’s come to the end of his preparation. Still tried hard. Hopefully a nice spell and he’ll return for another good winter campaign.

Race 6 - Shez Shamus 🥈 & Pick of the Litter 4th

Huge from from Shez Shamus to finish 2nd, jumping right up in distance showing all signs she’s still wanting to be a racehorse, a win doesn’t look very far away.

Pick of the Litter also went a big race to run into 4th, she just needs to be going further but was pleasing to see her hit the line and be competitive.
