A magnificent 3rd place for Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro, breeder: J.W. Rodenburg). After the competition break, he came back strongly with his performance in Aachen where he achieved two victories in the Grand Prix (score: 80.978%) and the Grand Prix Special (score: 80.107%). And off course his amazing performance during the Olympic Games in Paris with 2 bronze medals ๐ฅ!
In 4th place follows Imhotep (Everdale x Vivaldi, breeder: T. Huizing), who is closely followed by his father Everdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro, breeder: P. Kluytmans) in 5th place.

How do we select the s***m for ICSI at EquiBreed ART? This is a very popular question!
Answer: We only want to use the best s***m possible to fertilise each egg from your mare. So we use a microfluidic device called VETMOTL: VetMotl S***m Separation Devices simulate the natural barriers of the cervical and uterine pathway that s***m must overcome to fertilize an egg. This enables separation of optimally functional s***m. VetMotl devices are our favourite way to prepare s***m for use in veterinary ART procedures. It has been shown in humans, cattle, horses and other species that the s***m with the best viability, motility, morphology and DNA quality can swim through the specially designed membrane in these microfluidic devices, so that we have a beautiful clean sample of top quality s***m - and then in the final step we choose the fastest and most beautiful s***m cell for each egg injection.

Comme Il Fautโs pedigree makes your mouth water. We find an accumulation of sires all of which successfully competed at 1.60m-level: Cornet, Clinton, Corrado I, Heartbreaker, Ramiro Z and Alme Z. Tuesdays are our O**m Pick up days. Kate manages the mare from the front, Lee and Sam work together using a transvaginal ultrasound guided technique, the eggs are harvested directly from the follicle of the mare.

Attention Riders and Breeders
Many of our ESNZ disciplines are moving towards requiring (or already require) a horseโs breeding to be verified by way of a breed paper or passport in order to enter Age Group / Breeder classes.
What does this mean for you?
1) Is your horse a branded Thoroughbred? This means your horse is already registered - simply supply the details to ESNZ from the loveracing.co.nz website.
IF YOUR HORSE IS NON-THOROUGHBRED IT WILL NEED PAPERS FROM A RECOGNISED BREED SOCIETY OR STUD BOOK WHO WILL, ON REQUEST, SUPPLY ESNZ WITH A COPY OF YOUR HORSES PAPERS TO VERIFY THE DATE OF BIRTH, PEDIGREE AND BREEDER
2) Is your horse of Warmblood decent?
The NZ Warmblood Association registers ANY horse that can prove 25 % warmblood breeding or more. Even if the horse is by an unregistered or non-licensed stallion or out of a crossbred mare, the NZ Warmblood Association will be able to verify the breeding of the horse and provide an FEI approved passport.
There are 4 levels of registry for warmblood horses within the NZWA.
Register 1 โ This is the NZWAโs โGold Standardโ registry. All horses in Register 1 are by approved (Licensed) stallions and out of Stud Book mares (Mares who have been examined by an overseas inspector to critique their conformation and movement to make sure they are of suitable standard to breed). All horses in Register 1 are DNA tested.
Register 2 โ Horses in this Register have one or both parents who are not approved for breeding.
Derivate Register 1 โ Horses in this Register have a pedigree that contains blood from a population / breed other than Warmblood, Thoroughbred or Arab. This blood must be less than 13%
Derivative Register 2 - Horses in this Register have a pedigree that contains blood from a population / breed other than Warmblood, Thoroughbred or Arab. This blood will be 13% or higher.
NB there are other options for Warmblood horses available through the NZ Hanoverian Association. The website is www.nzhanoverian.com
3) Is your horse of Irish decent? Go to www.irishhorse.org.nz for registration details
4) Do you have a horse that has LESS THAN 25 % WARMBLOOD BREEDING or NO WARMBLOOD BREEDING? Perhaps your horse is a Station Bred / Kaimanawa ?
In this case the Sport and Performance Horse Register is for you โ the same FEI Approved International Passports that are supplied by the NZ Warmblood Association are also provided to horses registered with SPHANZ.
