Lets Talk Viewings... Top Tips from Jess Land Equestrian Ltd.
- Be respectful of peoples time, and treat a viewing like any other appointment ⏰Show up when you say you are going to and send a text if you are going to be early, late and especially if you are no longer coming. Try make any changes 24hrs prior.
- Don’t pick the horses to pieces, we are aware of their shortcomings and we really don’t need to hear you list everything that’s short of perfect with them just to justify why you might not want to buy them or with the thought you’ll make us drop the price.
- Make sure you are actually in a position to buy. Please don’t organise viewings if you have a horse to sell first or need to sort the finances; unless you have had a prior conversations with the sellers.
- Be fair to the horse. Have a good enough ride you get a feel and ask for assistance where necessary. But remember you really don’t need to trot 72 circles, canter 50 laps of the arena and jump 200 fences to get an idea.
- Communicate. Fairly self explanatory but surprisingly it's often forgotten. Owners/sellers won't take it personally if you don’t want the horse but have the decency to flick us a quick message and say thanks but no thanks.
- Be realistic about your abilities and what you are looking for. Don’t show up to try a green 6yr old and then pull it to pieces when it goes like a green one. If you are a nervous nellie don’t come and look at a quirky one, if you want a world be**er don’t turn up with a 5k budget.

Frankie is a 5yr old, 15.1hh, chunky, well put together mare who has had all the basics done. She is happily jumping over 80cm, loving it, and showing super technique.
She is forward without being hot and hasn’t shown any spook or dirt.
I have hacked Frankie out on her own and in a small group. She is well behaved out and I could ride her at the front or she was happy to sit in behind. She is good on the roads, at beach, on farm land, is fine with traffic, bikes, dogs etc
Frankie lovely to handle, is barefoot and low maintenance.
Frankie would be a cool first horse project for an experienced young rider or a new best friend for an amateur. She is a genuine, straightforward, honest type who is ready to get out and about. She is still young so no beginners or nervous nellys.

She’s been with me a couple weeks already, in that time I’ve done a little bit of everything, hacking, jumping, flat and am really loving her. She is a good amount of go and whoa, is willing and genuine. When I’m home from holiday she will be hitting the market due to her current owner moving South and being over committed with work.

Thought I’d update the lovely miss Belles album too. This poor horse has been in and out of work like a yoyo due to commitments with clients horses and work so considering this she is doing amazing.

He’s coming along in leaps and bounds. He blows me away with his can do attitude every time we try something new.
Was super impressed with Cash on Sunday. Thanks to Moutoa Pony Club for putting on a well organised, fun jumping show.
Cash didnt put a foot wrong jumping some lovely rounds, happy in the warm up and stood tied to the float while I rode my other horse.

Sport Horse by Drum of the West.
Mitsi is a sweet natured, eye catching mare who is well put together. She is forward moving with a nice amount of spice. She is an honest jumper and tries her heart out for you.
Mitsi has competed to 1m SJ and 80cm Eventing. Her dressage/flat work is a work in progress but has potential.
She hacks out alone or in company, is happy at the beach, down roads, over farm land etc
She is good to handle, good for farrier, floats, trucks etc
Although Mitsi has the nicest nature and does not have a dirty bone in her body she does require an experienced, kind, confident rider to bring out the best in her.
Her price is negotiable to the right home.

She is happy popping over logs at the beach, xcountry jumps and cantered round 65cm-70cm SJ without any fuss. She was in no way spooky at fill etc
I have ridden her out alone and in company at the beach, over farm land and down the road.
She does seem to be more comfortable with others but will go out solo.
Cass has in the past done pony club and was used casually in a riding school .
Cass is good to handle, stood perfectly for the farrier, self loads on the float. She is low maintenance and has great hard feet (is unshod and fine on all terrains)
Cass would suit a capable pony club rider or a small adult rider wanting to trek and have fun.

CATCH RIDE- Lotte’s round from the final Waikanae Winter Jumping Day. Loving jumping this sassy mare, she makes my job very easy. Looking forward to Feilding and having a go indoors.
4️⃣sale on behalf Roxy 14.1hh Arab by Arahi Supremo 14yrs Roxy is looking for a new human. She is a super sweet pony who loves hacking, is nicely schooled on the flat and is a honest jumper. She has previously been an all round pony club mount. Roxy can be at times forward moving and a little excitable in big atmospheres but settles with more outing/work. She has a lovely soft snaffle mouth, has good solid feet (is barefoot) and is a dream to handle, groom, tack up, clip, fuss over etc In recent times she has been hacked out down roads, to the beach, over hills etc. She is good with traffic, bikes, trucks, bridges etc. She isn’t spooky, she is just aware of her surroundings. She’s happy at the front or back. She has jumped up to approx 85cm here, she can be a little looking a fills but enjoys jumping on a whole. She has been ridden by both children and adults and would suit either. Roxy is ready to get out there and bond with her new human.
Belle’s jumping has come such a long way in a short time. Super impressive young mare. Couldn’t be happier with her.
