Colorado State University plant scientist Bill Bauerle, who enjoys a hoppy brew as much as the next person, has dedicated several years to optimizing hops grown in CSU’s horticultural research center.

In a study that wraps up three years and 13 growth cycles of several popular hop varieties, Bauerle is upending conventional wisdom hop growers have followed for decades to coax their plants to flower. His results, published in Scientific Reports, open up new possibilities for indoor, sustainable, local production of hops – so, beer lovers, rejoice.

This was my first "Vertical Farm" that I made a few years ago.

Coriander is very easy to grow with a vertical farm - lots of layers!

I have a lot to 'lean' about photography and making videos.

I am a good student.

I am not surprised that Horticulture New Zealand wants to discredit Vertical Farming

[1] Energy is NOT our main problem - we have Deep Geothermal

[2] Light is not necessarily a problem - we can use natural light

[3] Water available will become a problem - vertical farming is good for water conservation

[4] High capital investment and operational costs are NOT a problem - modular systems means we can start small and add more growing units as we expand

[5] Of course Vertical Farming is a local solution and this is not a problem - exporting is giving away our wealth

There are many "gaping flaws" with the business models for Horticulture in New Zealand. Covid has exposed one or two?

Growing food crops in a series of layers in a high-rise building is no solution for New Zealand, a new study has found.
