Where has this year gone!

Under 3 months to go now until handpieces are turned on at the Rosskeen Station woolshed!

It’s been a very mild end to winter and a great start to spring for lambing. Will be very interesting to see how the lambs are doing when they come down the docking cradle in October.

As we are getting closer to the event, we would like to reach out to our community and supporters, for helpers at the shearathon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and will contribute to making this event a big success!

Jobs we will need help with over the duration of the event:

- wool handling
- pressing
- sheepo/yard workers
- Cooking/food & drink prep for helpers

The runs and times are listed below.

Please message this page privately, of your preferred job you would like to help with and also the run/s that you can be available for.

Shepherd/ shepherd General

Mahunga station is located at Matawai 1hr from Gisborne or 1hr from the Bay of Plenty. Mahunga is a 950ha Sheep and cattle breeding and finishing unit. This job would suit someone with a minimum of 3 working dogs and experience in all aspect of livestock handling and care. A good set of general skills eg fence and water system maintenance would also help. We can structure this role to suit an applicants strengths and hep them with there challenges. We run with another property of a similar size so when the big jobs are on we have the ability throw a big team at the job and get it done.

Included in the package is a recently renovated 3 bed room house with school bus at gate. (Years1-8) If this sounds like your next step up apply by emailing [email protected]
