While I'm house sitting I get to use different types of cleaning products and pet foods etc.
So I thought I would start letting people know which I found best.
So far am loving this...
Better then other spray and wipes I have used.
Even cleaned mould off wallpaper!
Side note does make the cats sneeze but Seuss is a bit sensitive anyway😊

Today we received an enquiry asking for the loan of a cat trap so this person could attempt to deter stray cats from his property. The intention was to "trap them and give them a thorough water hosing".

The reason we have chosen to talk about this publicly is because not everyone may realise but this method is NOT an appropriate way of dealing with stray cats. It is cruel, and therefore it is both illegal and immoral. Not only this, but the cat would become extremely trap shy, which would preclude future trapping for TNR or rescue.

What can you do instead? Trap, neuter and return. Desexing of stray cats is the best way to prevent unwanted behaviour. If you are willing to borrow a trap and catch the cat then go the extra step of organising desexing. If you can't afford this then check in with local rescues to see if any subsidies are available.

A note to those who have loan traps: please be careful to check the intentions of anyone asking to borrow a trap. It is a good idea to make sure a plan is in place for trapping and for the cat once caught, and check this conforms to animal welfare regulations.

Just remember, a little bit of compassion goes a long way. Community cats are a community responsibility and we all need to play our part.

It's not hard to check how hot the footpath is.
Place your hand on the footpath, if you can't hold it there to count of 10 it is too hot!
I see far to many people walking their dogs (and barefoot crying children) during the day when it is so hot and sunny.
