❤ A KINDA FOSTER FAIL! ❤
This lil puddin' was recently up for adoption again after a change in family circumstance 🥺 But once a HHAR pup, always a HHAR pup!! And Jake's new home is actually back in the loving arms of the whānau who actually fostered him! 🥹
From his new loving mama Tracey Powley Drawings, “We adopted Jake because sadly he had to be rehomed for a second time due to unforeseen circumstances, nothing to do with him, and we knew how special he was and couldn't stand the thought of him having to be moved around again.”
While this didn't come as a complete surprise to us as we knew Tracey really adored Jake, it's just incredible to see how things finally pan out for the best 🥰 And it look like his new fur-siblings are embracing this new addition to the family too! 🥰
Bless you Tracey and Nic for FINALLY seeing the light (LOL) and for opening up your heart and home to handsome Jakey Boy! We did often tease you about foster failing with Jake, because we all felt the enormous love you had for him... well... dreams really do come true! ❤
And Jake - you've landed back on your paws at the best home! You are such a divine wee dude & we're so proud that you are just going to continue to shine with a loving whānau by your side! This wonderful organisation that started with a group of passionate animal loving friends, who worked together to assist local animal welfare organisations on the Kapiti Coast and beyond, have donated $1000 which has gone straight into our desexing account!
This couldn't have come at a better time - with helping the community in desexing their pets, some of the appointments cost more that we thought so this really has helped pay for the over spend! 🥹

❤ A FOSTER FAIL THAT WAS WAITING TO HAPPEN! ❤
2024 begins on a high for the GORGEOUS Boudi-Bear, as he is officially a foster fail - look at him run from his Dad like a crazy bean!!! 🥳😂
This loving son-of-a-gun has been living the dream the last few months, and by just being his gorgeous self - Boudi won the hearts of his foster whānau! 🥰
From his loving foster mama Rebekah, “The first post that popped up was asking for a foster for this beautiful doggo who was due to be euthanised in a weeks time. So I booked that Friday off work and drove 4 hours to pick him up from his temporary foster.
He travelled so well, although very farty 😅
He instantly bonded with our 10 year old Chocolate Lab and after a few weeks even won over or most recent rescue Hazey.
He was completely crate trained, although now pretty much sleeps on the bed every night 😇
He loves it when friends and their dogs come to visit especially if the doggos are closer to his age so he can play and wrestle.
I had fallen head over heals within a few weeks and then over the following months he worked his way into my partners heart also ❤️
Boudi-bear is truely a wonderful plus to our family, I find myself squishing his face and talking to him like a baby more often than I should admit 😅
Thank you to everyone involved to help bring Bouds here and helping him settle in. Thanks to Amy & Nicci for breaking him out of the pound and thank you Hope & Harmony for all your support and assistance in making these past few months stress free ❤️❤️❤️

Poor sweet Freckles has come back into care as her adoption fell through (through ABSOLUTELY no fault of her own). It was a heartbreaking decision for the family, with some tears shed, but we are so grateful they tried to make it work. Sadly however, the household wasn’t suited for Freckles, and so our search continues for her furever home - we know she deserves the best & most loving and active whānau - don’t worry Miss Freckles, we won’t let you down - we’ll find you the BEST home! 🥹
During this time, Freckles has been staying with our wonderful foster mama in Akld, who is also a dog trainer! And we are learning more about Freckles which is always advantageous! ☺️

“Freckles is settling in well. She is learning what is and isn't okay in the house and she's acing things now! She's a lovely solid dog, just young and needs guidance. Her only hang ups are her prey drive and puppy stuff - normal puppy hyperactiveness around other dogs and people that we're working on. My flatmates dad who used to work with detection dogs, said she'd make an epic one, and I'd agree - she’d love it - she has the food drive, toy drive and handler drive for some kind of work when she's switched on - there's definitely some good foundations there! She’s fine with horses and would thrive in a home that does stuff! And she loves the beach!”
Awww Freckles just sounds like an awesome and fun, free spirited soul; who will lift you up to enjoy the great outdoors - she will remind you to pick yourself up and live life to the fullest all day, everyday!

Freckles is a clever wee thing too - lead walking is really good, she’s going well with recall and has lovely manners (though we're working on her puppy jumping!) We think she’ll do awesome with an active whānau, but that’s not to say she’s a sucker for some quiet one-on-one time with you, along with some serious cuddling! As her foster mama says, “Freckles is an absolute sweetheart!” 😍

Kyros has been in foster care for far too long, and what his loving foster whanau knows about him is this - this boy is quite simply a HUGE delight - a loveable, affectionate & cool delight who truely believes he is a lil lapdog!😂 He is extremely loyal and likes to protect his hoomans, making a fabulous guardian for your whare. Kyros does love being out & about; he has an adventurous spirit, and would make a wonderful outdoor companion - he is still learning recall, and is doing pretty well! 😎 He is gorgeous with his commands - knows to sits well, gives paws, and will take treats gently from your hand - bless!😇
Kyros does loves his foster sister (as you can see from the video!), so a sibling would do well for him, though not a requirement. He does OK on the lead, but with consistent and fun training (which all dogs should have throughout), life will be a doddle with this exuberant wee bean! 🥰

From a rough start to life, to the exciting road of love and recovery; Master Bouddi has come leaps and bounds, and his loving Foster Mama is certain this wee poppet is ready for his furever home! 🥹
Once an anxious wee pup with no trust towards hooman’s, Bouddi has mastered no growling or barking at people and dogs on walks - such a WIN WIN!!! He’s been focusing hard on his basic manners like ‘stay and sit’ which he is ace-ing! And now he is learning the ropes of recall and building up his alone time. Gosh, he is doing so well! 🥰
Bouddi is pretty much through his anxiety, but we know he will thrive only with an experienced owner who has the patience, love and kindness to keep him being the BEST version of himself! And a bonus would be if he had the company of another pup at home if his hooman was a full time worker, OR his hooman could come home at lunch time to say hi and give a belly rub - he just needs that sense of love and security (gosh don’t we all?!!) 😘
We reckon Bouddi is an absolute dreamboat, and a lucky hooman is out there who will be honoured to have him join their whānau! And you can be sure that the pup coming to join you has been under the utmost loving care - his current Foster Mama is a professional dog trainer - respect! 🙌

“Molly is a delightful pup who likes everyone. She has great doggo manners when meeting new friends. As soon as she knows a dog is friendly she’s full on playing, wrestling and zooming. She’s a confident and curious girl who at times gets into things she shouldn’t - so best to supervise her when on the loose. Chewing on any dead critters she can find is a perfect example!
She gets on great with kids, dogs and cats. Her training is coming along nicely. She walks well on the lead, sits, lies down and knows ‘no’. She does very well in her crate and never cries. A couple of walks a day are enough for her to run off energy. She loves the beach and swimming. When she’s hanging out with us, she’s quite calm and cuddly. Another plus is that she’s not a big barker. She does like to dig when bored so something to keep an eye on. Molly would suit most any household but one with kids would be a great plus. All up, she’s happy, healthy, very clever and affectionate.”

Meet Duke - a gorgeous mixy, who is in search of his own loving whare, with a hooman who WILL NOT let him down 🥺. One of our own loving fosterers have been caring for this sweet boy, and here's what she has to say:

"Duke is approximately 1 year and 4 months old crossbreed.
He is a very calm dog and can be quite nervous with new situations such as people and dogs. Duke will thrive in a structured home with boundaries and ongoing training for confidence building.
Duke gets along with dogs well, but tends to wander off and be in his own little world minding his business. He does love a game of tug or sharing a squeaky toy with his mates. Duke's recall is very well as he LOVES coming to his humans and getting praised. His impulse control will need a bit more training but he is getting better each week.
Duke is learning that new people aren’t so scary, and gets excited when he sees certain people now. Duke loves to swim, run alongside a bike, go on adventures such as forest walks or just going to burn off some steam on a walk/run.
Duke has been out to Cafes with me and does great - all eyes on me but he does get a bit skittish and nervous at times. He doesn’t rush dogs or people when out in public, he stays very close to you.
Duke has met Sheep, chickens, cows, dogs, cats and ducks and leaves them alone. He is easy to verbally disengage if he gets a little too interested.
Duke loves baths but is not a fan of getting his nails trimmed.
I would love Duke to go to a home with someone who understands dog behaviour, as Duke will need you to advocate for him as he is still a little nervous at times. He needs someone who is confident and will continue his training to give him the best chance of being the best doggo. Someone who will show Duke unconditional love, as he has had a rough start to life and has only just started to trust humans.
Duke isn’t too active (an hour adventure is enough for this guy but

And here you have it... 4 baby cherubs arrived safely in Palmerston North to our loving foster Coordinator - who has already fed, bathed and introduced them to her pack! Aren't they just the cutest lil buttons?!!!🥰
Now you can see why Skeeter (in the pen with the pups - who was in the post yesterday as he went temporarily missing!) needed to be home!! In time to be in his element - to nurture these lil pups alongside his own brother Reed (the big black dog in the video!) 😍
These 2 play such an integral role with our HHAR pups as you can see - just easing the pups into the new norm! So much love in the home at the moment with these small bundles of complete joy! 🥹 We'll keep you posted how they get on! ❤
