A super update from John, Jocks owner, who did some introductions to the gun today with the help his friend Pat - 'shot 4 different types of amo from about 70 metres away including some clay shooting he never bated an eye'. Good boy Jock, and great work John 💪

Two of our puppies had their very first show experience at Manawatu Kennel Association Ribbon Parade today in Ashhurst. Nina & Arthur did fab in a completely new & busy environment, and they got to see a variety of other dogs, from Min Pins to a Great Dane!
My young boy also had his first go at Junior Handlers, so cute! ❤️

We have a visitor!

Arther, formerly Atlas, has dropped by and is hanging with the crew for a short time while his family is on holiday in the sunshine ☀️

He is such a delight to have around, his new family are doing wonders with his training and he is a very clever boy - isn't he a spitting image of his mother Olive ❤️

✨Mission successful for both Meg & Jock✨
Elated to share that both puppies are settling in nicely at each of their new homes in Auckland - by all accounts their travels, either by 🚙 or ✈️, were stressfree and the puppies quickly relaxed into their journeys. Well done you clever puppies 💗 we are so proud of you!
Thank you to John and family for welcoming Jock into your lives, and thank you Chrissy, Ross, and Bobbie the cat for welcoming Meg into yours - your updates have made me over the moon!

Another departure from Hazelmoor, this time for Meg - this wee girl slept soundly all the way to Palmerston North Airport! No crying once in her airline crate although I can't say the same for me 😭 you have an awesome loving home who eagerly await your arrival - be a good girl Meg, Live Long nProsper 🖖❤️

🚀 And so off Jock boldly goes into the big wide world, embarking on new adventures with his new owner and best mate John! We couldn't have found a better home for Jock who will be a much loved family member and has a future in hunting pheasants - goodbye little guy, have fun, and you're a very good boy!! 🐾

'I can't believe she's ignoring us!' 🐶

Attention seeking puppies! For the most part, the appearance of a person has meant feeding, training, treats, pats, or exciting and fun activities are about to happen. Yesterday we saw the first display of crying and protesting when one puppy was taken for training, so now we have started 'operation ignore the cute puppies!' Several times a day my job will be to sit nearby or complete another task in view of the babies, in time they will become more relaxed when someone appears and not to always expect interaction.

Vital for those owners who work from home, set your puppy up for success by providing something else appropriate for your puppy to do, a pigs ear, stuffed kong, or other high value chew or toy is a great way to encourage quiet relaxation.

We had only a very small amount of frustration whining before they moved onto their toys and playing amongst themselves.

The puppies had visitors! 🙋
It was our own tiny humans birthday today which meant lots of activity and new people to meet, greet, and cuddle! Exposing young puppies safely to different people is essential for socialisation and confident future dogs. Now that they are accustomed to their outdoor digs, they are also joining us daily for walkies around the bigger garden along with the big dogs. These puppies are outgoing, adventurous, and curious of the world, and are already showing that lovely Springer temperament and willingness to please people ❤️

Today was Vaccinations day and the gangs first visit to the Vet! 💉

We bundled up everyone in the crate filled with dried deer ears and pizzles and off we went. Arriving nice and early meant several of the lovely team at Vets on Riverbank had time to give the puppies lots of treats and cuddles before their appointment, an awesome positive experience for them! The puppies also practiced their waiting in the car park watching lots of dogs, people, cars, and trucks pass them by. Their jabs and checkup all went smoothly, so much so they all fell asleep 💤 well done babies! 👏

Puppy spam from yesterday ❤️
Lately we have been preparing for their first vet visit, over the past few days they have been listening to car and traffic noises on Spotify and yesterday they had their first experience crated in the car. We had a short ride to the end of the driveway and back while they ate their afternoon meal. Everyone handled it very well. I was so busy giving them treats and talking to them I forgot to take photos so will try to remember when I repeat the exercise again today!
