Our last ewe has lambed for this season. Elle has popped out a good sized ram lamb. So that’s an even 50/50% boys to girls 🩵🩷
We have been blessed so far with all lambing’s unassisted and everyone feeding well. I miss having bottle babies but it’s always a struggle with work.
Splitting the flock between Summer & Spring lambing has made it so much easier in our little set up.

Small but perfect we introduce the rather cute ‘Flimsy’. 💖🫶 Pleased to have a Daughter to the lovely young Remarkable 23/23 who has the loveliest nature and is a bit of a fave and our lovely ram Rose Creek Rua 🖤🤍

Thankful for the shelter of the lambing shed as this cute wee fella made his arrival. Welcome Felix.
With an overly generous amount of black at the front he will be wethered to make a great pet. His mum is one of our friendliest sheep.
The black spots on top of his head will mean lovely dark horns when he grows up.

Dreadful weather here so 2 day old Faithful and her mum are hanging out in the stable.
25 has an incredible, huge udder and this whopping single girl (8.5 kgs at birth) will no doubt grow like a mushroom 🍄‍🟫

A big, beautiful baby girl for one of the lovely ewes we were lucky enough to buy at the Remarkable sale.
Halfway through lambing with just the hoggets to go.

More fabulous winter weather this weekend. The overgrown section is in need of a tidy so I recruited the hairy trio to gardeners for the day 🌱🌿🌾
Not sure I’ll keep them on, too much lying down on the job! 😴

At 151 days finally a lovely set of twins 🩵💖 for the lovely Remarkable 40. Doing a great job as a first time mum.
Such an exciting time of year, although with Autumn lambing this year we’ve had double the delight 🥰💞

Almost mid winter 🌓 and shearing is overdue for the woolly gang. We plan to give everyone a much needed haircut ✂️ at the weekend before we get set up for lambing late July and August.
Everyone’s enjoying the mild winter temperatures this week with full bellies of lucerne hay 😋🍀 Always happy to see us 😆
The mini highlands are scratching on everything as their winter coats grow through. 🐂
The weaned autumn lambs are growing like mushrooms with just the 6 week old twins still on mum.

Kings Birthday 👑 weekend brought mild weather and some extra time at home to spend with the wooly gang.
The twins are a month old today and doing well. Everyone else in the nursery paddock has been weaned and are thriving on their favourite lucerne hay 🍀
Rua has finished tupping duties and has a couple of his girlfriends for company whilst the remaining mothers to be are settled in a seperate paddock.
With double the numbers from last year it feels like there are sheep everywhere 👀👀

A few days off work and time to tick ✅ a few jobs off the list. Winter ❄️🌬️ is on its way so finally got round to making some heavy curtains for the arch in the hallway by the South facing front door. 🏠 This part of the house gets chilly so these will keep the heat in.
Couldn’t find any interesting curtains to suit the logs 🪵 so bought some fabric and ran these up.
Dave made me a lovely copper & brass curtain rod to match the door handles we made for the front door.
The arch is almost two & a half metres high so a big drop.

How’s this for a wonderful birthday surprise 🎁🩷💙
Lovely Ewe 44 who we purchased scanned in lamb with twins tricked us into thinking she’d re-absorbed her babies. Ran with the ram and got marked. Oh well we thought- bad luck, just one of those things.
This morning produced a gorgeous set of twins, one of each s*x. Blessed 🙏🏻🤍🖤
Well played 44, well played 🫡

Fashion & Finale are enjoying this great ☀️weather but the nights have been frosty ❄️
As we expected we have had to supplement feed them 🍼as Annie had developed a worrying asymmetrical udder in the last few weeks, one side is blind(empty) and the remaining side is dropped and doesn’t appear to have much milk. We’ve held of intervening for 36hrs hoping they’d share whatever colostrum she may have but it was obvious today they were both hungry and needed feeding. Both latched straight on to the bottle and are snoozing with full tummies.
Annie is a grumpy old F1 but all her children have been fabulous friendly favourites and these two are no different, super snuggly.
All her offspring have been polled (no horns) even her F3 grandchildren.🐑

🖤🤍 Autumn lambing finishes with a surprise delivery of two very different twin girls 🤍🖤
Our old matriarch Annie, our original F1 bred ewe has done a great job of producing twin girls on her last lambing. She’s only ever had 1 ewe lamb before in her years of lambing, and her Daughter has only given us ram lambs so far.
These F2 (75%) Valais cross girls are out of the box 👀 our first black lamb.
Annie is Valais Blacknose x English Leicester.
Both girls will be looking for loving homes either at weaning or as bottle babies 🍼
