❤❤❤ KIA ORA to the BEAUTIFUL Murphy whānau! ❤❤❤

We just received our most gorgeous gift yet that will greatly benefit the Hub furbabies through the months ahead!!! 🐾

Liz and Chris, along with their sweetest rescue dog Molly decorated their home with Christmas lights this year, entering the Professionals Christmas lights competition! Much to the delight of families in Palmy North, they've been doing this for the past 21 years, and always do a donation bucket each time to a different charity or non profit organisation. And this year, the Hub was their focus 🥹

Through their efforts, they raised $455.00 for animals under our care and community animals in need, and we are so incredibly appreciative and humbled by their gorgeous efforts - tears of joy in fact!!! 🥲🥹😭

It’s been a whirlwind of activity here at the hub! From microchipping, scanning, and reuniting pets with their families to rescuing, rehabilitating trauma cases, and caring for ferals—there’s never a dull moment 🌪✨️

Many people ask why we don’t share more updates about what we do. The truth is, there are a few reasons: respecting people’s privacy, ensuring the safety and protection of the animals in our care, and honestly, being so busy in the moment that taking photos often slips our minds🙈

As a hub, we not only serve our local community but also provide vital support nationally to rescues, vets, police, and councils. With a small committee juggling full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and the daily demands of running the hub, time is always a precious commodity—a reality many rescues can relate to⏳️😢

But it’s not all hard work and heartache! 😊
This year alone, we’ve:

✨️Provided over 15 community microchips and more than 62 rescue microchips.

✨️Delivered over 100kg of community food in Manawatu and 82kg of rescue support food for medical cases (thankyou to The New Zealand Natural Pet Food Co for donating to us - without your generous donation we couldn't have helped other rescues and the community 🫶✨️💖)

✨️Provided certified behavioral and training support to over 75 cases in both rescue and the community.

✨️Provided intensive medical care to 27 cases.

✨️Traveled countless kilometers to help animals in need.

✨️Fostered and rescued 100+ dogs and kittens for various rescues and the community (and counting).

We couldn’t have done any of this without the incredible support of our fosters, volunteers, supporters, fundraising and donations. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your unwavering dedication to helping us make a difference 🫶✨️💖

It utterly breaks our heart that we have to turn away animals in need because we simply do not have enough humans to help foster, but it's particularly hard when a human in the community feels they need to question fostering pups in general 😭

Our fosterers are INCREDIBLE BEINGS, who put their heart and soul into furbabies under their care - having such heartless reporting is quite frankly annoying, frustrating and stressful when we need to juggle the pups in an already small and full team!!! 😠 UNNECESSARY!!! This is why we need more fosterers, to not only juggle furbabies around when required, it allows a break for our exhausted fosterers AND of course, saves more lives - we HATE saying no to rescues who have reached out to us for support, but we are all stacked 🥺

So we ask YOU to join our mission to...

2 recent and separate events have had us at the hub thinking that many ppl (through no fault of their own), may not know or be aware of the term pawparent or what pawparents are 🥹✨️

At the Hub, we strongly encourage pet owners to designate two trusted individuals as "pawparents" for their beloved furbabies, ensuring their well-being in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as disability or the owner’s passing.

Pawparents are people who share a bond with your pets, have similar lifestyles, and align with your values around pet care. By agreeing to take on the responsibility of providing a loving and stable environment, these individuals ensure your pets can continue to live happy and healthy lives if you’re no longer able to care for them.

Why is this important? Many pets end up surrendered to shelters or rescues when their owners can no longer look after them. These organizations, already overwhelmed, often struggle to accommodate the influx, leaving the animals’ futures uncertain.

Animals experience grief—they mourn their owners, face displacement, and can develop depression. Their chances of adjusting and thriving are significantly higher when they have a familiar, supportive place to process these emotions. While shelters and rescues do their best, they can’t replicate the comfort of a home with people who already know the pet’s personality, routines, and training.

This is where pawparents make all the difference. Just as we designate godparents for our children, it only makes sense to plan ahead for our furbabies. Don’t they deserve the same level of care and consideration?

Pet Doctors is an incredible and highly skilled clinic that has saved countless lives among our rescues and even our own personal animals. From cases of Parvo and ICH to burns, abuse, neglect, and feral pups and dogs, their team consistently goes above and beyond in every situation.. we can't thank them enough tbh🥲🐾✨️💖

As many know, we have many All Paws Count Murupara Trust rescues in our foster care, many of whom require vaccinations, desexing, and other medical treatments. To see one of our most cherished vet clinics not only supporting a fellow rescue but also one of the rescues we admire most is truly heartwarming. It exemplifies humanity, compassion, and teamwork at its finest🥲🤝💖

Bravo Winston Peters - bravo!!!

Greyhound racing is BANNED in New Zealand!!! This is HUGE!!!

Another key positive note is the introduction of the Racing Industry (Unlawful Destruction of Specified Greyhounds) Amendment Bill, “to prevent the unnecessary killing of racing dogs”.

It will mean no racing greyhound can be euthanised without the approval of a vet.

The legislation was necessary because, “We were alerted there could be serious abuse of dogs unless we got on top of it right here right now,” said Peters.

“A key task will be the re-homing of the estimated 2900 racing greyhounds in New Zealand,” he said.

🎅 Kia Ora whānau for supporting us at the Ashhurst Christmas markets on Saturday!!! 🎅

Not only did we sell some cool Christmas goodies, we made the Hub a central place to learn about animal rescue and also to meet some pretty cute puppo's and kitty's too! 🐶🐱
