Whānau - our hearts are heavy & hurting at the Hub, as our OG Watson crossed the rainbow bridge on Tuesday. 💔 Rescued by Saving Hope Foundation & brought to our Hub founder Tammy a year ago, Watson beat the parvo odds - the only survivor of his litter. In foster care for a year, Watson found his way to a wonderfully loving long term foster home under the care of John, where he thrived. Watson was adored by humans, fellow dogs & kitty's too! He was in his element & was potentially on the road to finding his furever home after a gorgeous meet & greet just last Sunday. Life just isn't fair. You see, Watson wasn't just a gorgeous old soul, he was extremely intelligent, & potentially that big brain got the better of him. It's the hardest thing to try to find any light at the end of the tunnel with his passing. But I like to think that Watson went the way he wanted - he was in charge & he was doing what Watson wanted to do. He marched to the beat of his own drum, he lived his way, & with so much swag. He wanted to explore, & that he did. They say things happen for a reason, but I can't see or make sense why Watson was taken far too soon. He had so much to give - so much heart, so much love, so much Watson! Maybe that's the legacy he leaves behind - the resilience he had, even with his terrible start to life; he had this ability to seize the opportunity & rocket forward with such zest and love for everyone and everything - that is something we should all be striving for. So this Waitangi Day, we cried & we grieved. & now we remember, we reflect, we reset - & power forward with positivity & verve - that's the Watson way. Thankyou to everyone who reached out and filled in forms - we now have a place for Clio and her foster folks can have a much needed break, knowing she is in good hands. Thankyou for being part of our amazing village 🫶✨️💖 📢📢 URGENT - SHORT TERM BABYSITTER REQUIRED!!! 📢📢 One of our fosterers is heading away, and so our sweet baby Clio needs a short term fosterer from 16-26 January - whānau, can any of you step in to foster for these 11 days please? She is currently fostered in Paraparaumu, so around this area or Wellington or Palmy North will work too 🥰 Clio is honestly a little cherub and low maintenance! From her loving foster mama Tracy, "Clio is a loving 6 month old puppy and loves a tummy rub and a cuddle on your knee. She loves children and catching ball. ❤❤❤ KIA ORA to the BEAUTIFUL Murphy whānau! ❤❤❤ We just received our most gorgeous gift yet that will greatly benefit the Hub furbabies through the months ahead!!! 🐾 Liz and Chris, along with their sweetest rescue dog Molly decorated their home with Christmas lights this year, entering the Professionals Christmas lights competition! Much to the delight of families in Palmy North, they've been doing this for the past 21 years, and always do a donation bucket each time to a different charity or non profit organisation. The story of Charlie Brown finding his Snoopy is just so wholesome 🥹 And you know, all of us who have had the privilege of adopting a furbaby understands the completeness, the warmth and the unconditional love you feel when the love connection is made between animal and human (and I only mean the good humans here of course!) 📢 ADOPTED - LOVE FOR LIFE!!! 📢 Sweet Alisdair, now named Franky has been successfully adopted by one of our lovely fosterers Katie... well actually let's call this a foster fail 🤗 From his new loving mama, "Tammy was great help in finding a selection of pups that would suit our little out of the norm family which helped enormously. Once I viewed a wee clip of Foster dad Chris with Franky aka Alisdair and saw his sweet face (and kinda cheeky too!) I fell in love 😍. Knowing his background in past foster care helped too, as he had been in a home with a family member with different needs. Also Franky has some separation anxiety so because I am home taking care of my son, it makes us the perfect match! Franky is a dream - polite, and knows boundaries with my disabled adult son, and his stubborn streak matches the rest of his new family members 🤣 I am grateful with the fostering and rescue hub for giving me the chance to open up my home and heart to such a special boy." ❤️ Awww very misty eyed at the hub, as Franky (as well as his siblings) have all been in foster care for months now, but we knew that with patience, this dude's home was around the corner! We hear he is settling in well, and bonded straight away with his new brother Ben! 😘 Of course, this furever connection was made possible with the love and guidance from Franky's former foster families - first with Suzen, and then with Chris! These two amazing individuals who were there for Franky throughout his fostering time - taught him how to dog, how to love life, and how to let his personality shine! They fell in love with Franky too and his charming ways, and couldn't be more proud and happy for this special wee guy!
