Our kennel name CUBANA, highlights 3 combinations of the name and origin. Cuba The Havanese is the recognized National dog of Cuba. Havana The Port city of Cuba where the Havanese first set their paws on Cuban soil. In the 16th Century merchants, traders and settlers carried these small Bichon type dogs from Spain as gifts and trades to the wealthy aristocrats of Cuba. Havanese The recognized n

The Havanese is also known as the Bichon Havanais, Habaneros and the 'Havana or Cuban Silk Dog' (its coat has evolved in Cuba over time to silky wool to accommodate the tropical heat). Our commitment is to love, nurture, protect and enjoy our sweet, mischievous and adoring little charmers and that is not hard!

Little Squirrel is now in her 16th year and still a mover and shaker and reminds me daily to take her for a walkies. Trouble is she gets a little confused these days and if a get too far ahead she finds another human and tags along with them thinking it is me🥰

Yesterday my sweet, gorgeous Ginger gained her final 2 Challenge Certificates to qualify as a NZ Champion through DOGSNZ. A beautiful mover and stunning in all respects, just love her. She is my last havanese and we will grow old together with pride and love 🌼❤️🥰🐾

Peaches is hard of hearing these days and when I have four I need to keep her on lead although she has good recall with signalling. She loves to be free with the wind blowing in her face!

Today my sweet little widget Peaches imported from Germany turns 13 today. Now days she is a chunky little monkey, much adored, a mind of her own and gets her own way every time🥰🐾. Thank you Sabine Steinnman from Avon Salzetal once again to sending over this treasure 🙏
