Neðri Bakki Icelandic Horses

UPDATE: The application window has now closed.

We are looking for a stable hand to join Nedri Bakki - an Icelandic horse stud in Pukekohe, Auckland.

Essential tasks:
- Feeding the horses and other farm animals
- Cleaning and maintaining stables and equipment
- Grooming horses
- Handling and light exercising of horses
- Shifting horses around the farm
- Monitoring horses for common injuries

Please note that there will be the occasional light weekend work while owners are away.

The role is a part-time position and will be at least 20hrs a week. The hourly rate is $23.65 (current living wage).

Applicants must have some horse experience and be willing to learn new skills. Successful applicants will also require a NZ drivers license.

We do a lot of groundwork here at Neðri Bakki, both when we're starting up our youngsters and throughout the training process. It's a great way to connect with your Icelandic and also create some simple boundaries which can be translated to riding.
