In search of new 🏡

All Smiles (Miley) is a 10 year old tb mare (Stravinsky/O’reilly), approximately 15.1hh.

Miley has done extensive hacking/farm/road riding, some pony club rallies, winter showhunter, showjumping and dressage days, a handful of ODEs and horse trials up to pretraining level. She has popped over a few of the 95 jumps at cross country training days, and is very bold. She is a clever jumper, and lots of fun for a confident rider.

Due to my university commitments Miley has been in sporadic work for the past couple of years. She has just been brought back into light work, but will need more time and consistency to build back up to where she was.

Miley is a forward ride, relatively green for her age and requires competent handling on the ground (as she does have some quirks).
⬇️💲reflects this, we just want her to find a good match.

I know this pony well. Isabella has put a lot of work into to her and she has developed into a fabulous wee pony that will take a young rider a long way.

Part 4 of “Where are they now?” - Pedro!

Pedro’s family have done an amazing job with him, and are giving the best possible life a little pony - who doesn’t actually know he’s a little pony - could ever wish for. He’s lucky enough to have 2 little girls to enjoy him, and he is becoming such a star - I know it’s only a matter of time before one of them beats me in the horse trials on him 😅

I only owned Pedro for a couple of months, but he still managed to make quite an impression! He held a reign of terror over his paddock mates that was only resolved with some firm lessons in manners, courtesy of our largest and grumpiest thoroughbred, and a hastily-booked gelding procedure…to this day I never seen a horse of any size remain standing after that amount of anaesthetic 😳 Thankfully, once his hormones were no longer running the show, he calmed down hugely and his true personality came out. He was so angelic that he managed to score a new home on his very first every outing to an inhand day (first photo), and the rest is history 😁

Part 3 of “ Where are they now?”

By popular (Jolene’s) demand….Yogi! Otherwise known as Yogurt Brown Catton-Burns, or more formally as RHL Little Brown)🐻

Both the hardest and easiest sale I’ve ever made, Yogi landed on his feet with Michelle. Michelle competed him for me when she was between horses, and when I sadly came to the conclusion that I needed to sell him before I left for uni, she jumped at the chance. It really is the perfect situation: Michelle is stoked with him, and I get to come and ride him whenever I’m up in Whangarei 🎉 and Yogi is also rather pleased with the situation, he must be the best cared-for horse in the country.

Yogles was a spontaneous Facebook messenger purchase, an unbroken, ugly ducking of a “pony” that I planned to break in and sell on quickly…yeah right 🤣 I was rather delighted when he measured at 5cm over pony height, and the rest is history! He taught me that I am definitely not cut out for a career in selling horses (apparently you actually have to sell them 🤔). However, I’m proud of producing such a quiet and well-rounded horse from scratch, and nobody deserves a Yogi more so than Michelle!

Part 2 of my “Where are they now?” series!

Today’s update is on everyone’s favourite chunky boy - Kevin! Kevin is going from strength to strength in his new home and has found his perfect match in his young rider, Lexi. Love seeing their updates as they grow as a combination 💕

For those who are interested, Kevin was one who came to us in a rather sorry state, and I had no idea what he would turn out to be. Being the champ he is, he quickly bounced back, doubled his body weight (approximately 😅), and totally blossomed in his new-found lifestyle.

I’m quite enjoying this, so if you have a horse or pony you brought from me, please get in touch, I’d love to see how everyone is getting on!

An update on Marmalade in her new home 💕
Her owner says that she’s stoked with her and they have really bonded.
Of course I miss her heaps, but it is so nice to know that she is well-loved.

Marmalade was a failed broodmare I took on as a ridden project. She quickly proved to be an awesome hacker, but did not appreciate flatwork, as much as I tried 😭 She’s been lucky enough to find a home on an amazing farm/station with a super gutsy rider who lets her have plenty of hoons - pure heaven for her!
