Morning, with the sad departure of Moni from Bijou Dog Grooming we can now announce that a new groomer is starting this week

Her name is Hitomi and her business is called Groomies. Her contact number 027 418 0429. Or you can pop in and make an appointment that way.

Scruffy 2 Fluffy does small/medium dogs up to 15kgs.

Dog Do's Grooming does big dogs - which not many groomers do

Groomies - does small/medium dogs up to approximately 15kgs.

Scruffy 2 Fluffy Dog Grooming have become a grooming hub in Upper Hutt.

What does this mean for you? Based out of 1 Whakatiki Street, Upper Hutt are three groomers who all run their own individual businesses under the one roof.

Can anyone help please?

I have been asked by a dear friend if I know anyone who would be able to adopt two brothers. Their mum has gone into care and is heartbroken that she cannot take them with her.

They do need to stay together as they are litter mates. Their names are Deigo (white) and Chico (brown). They are up to date with vaccinations and have had some dental work done - other than that they're very healthy for their age - they're older gents at 13 years old. Are in Wellington and have lived with cats before so no issues there.

Please let me know if you or anyone you know would be interested as they are currently in boarding kennels as no family are able to have them.

Please be aware of where ot is safe to take your dogs swimming and where you need to stay away from.

TOXIC ALGAE WARNING at the following locations:

👉 Te Awa Kairangi/Hutt River at and upstream of Silverstream Bridge. Levels are moderate and the odd detached mat observed.
👉 Pākuratahi River at Kaitoke Campground. Levels are moderate.
👉 Wainuiomata River at Richard Prouse Park. Levels are moderate-high.
👉 Wairarapa - Ruamahanga River at the Double Bridges and Te Ore Ore sites. Levels are moderate.

Toxic algae is present in multiple locations throughout the region. It is a risk to both dogs and swimmers, particularly children. Dogs should be kept on leads and away from the water, and children should be supervised.

Toxic algae is deadly to dogs, and can make people sick. Remember, preventing your dogs from eating toxic algae is better than any known treatment.
