We are now running another awesome raffle for an awesome cause!

Pip and Kay are volunteering a week of their time in April 2025 for The Rock Vets in Niue.

They are so excited to be part of this wonderful team helping the animals of this beautiful island.

As volunteers they are responsible for their flights and accommodation so Beach Vets is going to run a few raffles to try and raise some $$ towards the costs.

This One Health Day, we urge you to consider the impact have on people, animals and the environment.

🔥 Since 2019, Fire and Emergency NZ has seen 676 fires caused by fireworks, 513 of which were vegetation fires.

🧓🏼 Fireworks can be a source of anxiety for many people, especially those with PTSD, autism or other conditions that cause sensitivity to light and sound.

🐎 Every year, vets are called to see horses that have been badly injured from fireworks-related stress. Horses often panic from the loud noises and try to run through fences, or onto roads (endangering themselves and motorists).

🐕 Cats and dogs often get anxious and try to flee when fireworks are going off. As a result, many pets are injured or go missing each year.

🐄 Large animals suffer from fear and stress related to fireworks.

🕊️ Fireworks can have a huge impact on surrounding wildlife, who can't retreat indoors when they're scared.

🐈 Around Guy Fawkes Night, vets often see cats that have developed stress cystitis because of the noise.

We have some exciting news!

Pip and Kay are volunteering a week of their time April 2025 for The Rock Vets in Niue.

In October we are going to be running two separate dental raffles for cats and dogs and the same again with a skin raffle for cats and dogs in November.
