This time last year we were cancelling fundraising events left, right and centre, not knowing how we were going to pay our bills in the peak of kitten season.

We are once again in the same position, not only with the loss of our sizzle yesterday but also the cancellation out of our biggest fundraising event on the calendar - the Petone Indoor Markets.

Our fundraising team is rallying to bring you a special online event next Saturday. We will be hosting a webstore sale, with all your favourite Outpawed products and some new ones.

Hooper loved staying in room 5 this time. The second level of the bed is the perfect height for him to give head boops as soon as his door was opened!

One of our current guests enjoys going for walks on a lead. So today he explored our paddock, sniffed after bunnies and tried to chase a chicken or two. Taking enrichment to the next level!

Inbetween rooms 3 and 4 we have a window. It’s quite tall, so kitty guests have to make an effort to see though it, but when they do they often play footsy through the glass. Harvey and Zzaria have been making friends today.

The beautiful Nyx and Até have gone home after a long holiday. Nyx and Até have been with us since March and they were our only guests during lockdown, so they feel like part of the family now! We miss them!

Not one of our clients, but we are giving a shout out for this Give a Little page for this poor kitty who was shot and needs extensive surgery.

We used a give a little when one of our foster kittens needed surgery at Massey and it helps ease the stress of trying to weigh up available funds vs best option to help your pet. Any little amount helps. Thank you!

There are lots of myths flying around about this horrible virus. Please know that pets CANNOT transmit Covid-19. It’s safe to give them lots of cuddles, so please do!

These guys are absolutely awesome and they need extra foster parents who love kitties! If that is something you may be interested in, have a chat with them. It’s very rewarding!

**FOSTER HOMES NEEDED**

We are in urgent need of new foster homes for our cats and kittens. We are currently operating with less than 10 foster homes, which is why our waitlist is so extensive.

We need foster homes for:
-Timid adult cats
-Socialised adults
-Kittens

ALL food and litter is supplied, vet care is covered and support is available 24/7. All you need is space to put your foster kitty and your own transport to get to and from the vet, etc. Training is provided.

We will be organising an induction meet & greet with one of our coordinators next week (Lower Hutt) so we can get new fosterers started. There will be a more extensive training offered on 26th April in Lower Hutt focusing on health and welfare, but in the meantime you will be paired with a mentor and given all critical information 😊

Some photos of the beautiful Piaf, Paz, Pierre and Persephone on their recent stay with us. They are super affectionate kitties. Here Jane, who helps with the cattery, is helping us give them their cuddles. A full body experience!

We support Outpawed in their rescue and rehoming of unwanted Cats and kittens. They have a massive vet bill for December and are requesting any cash donations to help them. Every $1 counts!

We also have Outpawed catnip kickers in stock at the cattery for $5 each. PM us if you would like to pick some up. All funds from kickers go directly to Outpawed.

December was a rough month for us. We took in a huge number of cats and kittens, assisted injured strays in our community and also had a few special cases (like Lazarus, Badger, Rupert and the FPV kittens). Many of these special kitties still require a lot of ongoing care.

Our vet and kitten food bills for December have come to a little over $10,000. We have been able to raise much of this thanks to you lovely people supporting us by purchasing kickers. We still have another $3000 to raise by the 20th so we can meet our bills.

We would be incredibly grateful for any help with our vet bills. Please donate if you can. Even $1 can make a big difference.

The wonderfull wee Barnaby came to us with just put in stitches in his bottom and a cone of shame. He has done amazingly well and is healing nicely. Such an affectionate sweet soul! He keeps trying to head butt our legs, which is super cute with a cone on!

Happy Halloween from our own very unique kitty Beau!
He used to be pure black, but he developed his own permanent skull face mask when he injured his eye a couple of years ago. He has no other white on him except his face! Perfect Halloween kitty! 💀🎃👻🎃
