Looking forward to hosting this exciting clinic!!

Lockie Phillips one and only clinic in New Zealand on 3-4 May 2025.

The link to book your ticket is:
https://www.emotionalhorsemanship.com/new-zealand-clinic-may2025

2025 Clinics near you: Australia, New Zealand, Canada & USA.

This year I am leaving home twice to travel for clinics. We have a total of 13 clinics this year. 11 Introductory 2-Day Clinics, and 2 Deep-Dive 3-Day Clinics.

11 of the clinics are to brand new locations and hosts I have not visited before. I am very grateful to be travelling to meet you all.

If you are considering to join us, a gentle reminder that we close ticket in-takes 48 hours prior to the clinic without exceptions. We do not take same day sign ups. So, if you can, please be prepared in advance.

An Emotional Horsemanship clinic is a place where we explore a method of training where the individual nature of each horse and person is allowed to be fully open and present. These clinics are a place where not a single horse will be forced, your clinician will know your name and your horses name and parts about your history before we begin, where auditors are encouraged to create a quiet and supportive learning environment. These clinics explore a method of developing, caring for, training and enjoying horses without escalating pressure and without manipulation. We can promise no huge "Oohs" and "Ahhs", but rather a growing sense of glow, a developing awareness of what's possible, and the seeds planted for the hopeful future your inner horse-child dreamt of.

I can also promise I am not showing up to show off. I attend in assistance of the horses and their people. It doesn't matter if I can do it with the horses, it matters if their human can do it. That is essential.

Safe spaces are only safe if they are not safe for everyone. These clinics generally are not safe for people harboring resentment, narrow-minded thinking, biases, prejudice or entitlement. I am not supposed to say that out loud or plainly... it is crass of me to do so. But if you would like to attend a clinic, this is a preview of my communication style. Some find it repellant, some called it "refreshing". Either way, I will be myself 100%.

If you would like to attend these clinics, find the link below to explore all 13 of them.

Fun hint, we are thinking of using 2026 for other things than clinics, these might be your next best opportunity to see a clinic in the immediate future!

Oh, and existing EH Students, if you want to attend a clinic with a high concentration of community members, looks like Taos New Mexico is going to be a great big family party!

It's now been a week already since arriving back to NZ after our Australia adventure with our 6 top Vaulters.

The competition last weekend was really quiet a rollercoaster of emotions. We went for an experience and an experience we got!!

The competition started on Thursday the 20th of Feb 2025. The 6 Vaulters and 3 coaches arrived at the venue to watch the trot up Vet check and be ready to compete a few hours later.

There was some horse dramas but the amazing Australian vaulting community stepped up and made sure each of our Vaulters were able to compete. Along with the understanding and help from the judges and organizers.

Thursday our 4 Vaulters competing in the CVI 1* were able to do their individual freestyles and compulsories. A big congratulations to Maite for winning 1st place in her grade!!

Friday was barrel freestyle where all our 6 Vaulters competed in the Pas De Dux (double) competition, special congratulations to Lieza and Mackenzie who won their class.

Saturday 4 of our Vaulters competed in the SVG competition doing their individual freestyle and compulsories. We again experienced some horse difficulties and just in the Nic of time we were again able to pull it together and get everyone on a horse and competing. This was thanks to the great horse owners and community coming together to help us kiwi Vaulters get in front of the judges in the ring.

Sunday was team freestyle on the barrel where our Vaulters took out 1st place. Followed by prize giving.

We are amazed and astonished at how well everyone handled this juggling act of horses, emotions and will power!! It was amazing to see how well the girls were able to perform under such extreme circumstances and how lucky they are to have such strong coaches by their side to help them through the weekend.

What a fantastic experience all round. There were some amazing relationships that formed due to all this, and we are again so grateful to Australian community that came together to help us get in the arena and compete.

Thank you to all the clubs, lungers, horses, horse owners and Vaulters that helped and supported us while we were there. We feel we have made great connections and friendships and can't wait to see where this experience will take us.

A massive thank you:

Yesterday at the Vet check!!

Unfortunately for the beautiful horse that 4 of our individuals were on didn’t pass the vet check. Reality of a horse sport!

Fortunately the amazing Australian lungers and horse owners were able to accomodate and get our Vaulters on stage in the competition!!

Our girls had to pivot an hour before competing and they performed amazing!!

Here are the 4 that competed in the CVI international competition with their compulsories!!

Our Vaulters have arrived in Australia along with coaches Cat and Verena!!

Thank you so much to everyone who was a part in helping and supporting our 6 Vaulters make it over the ditch for the CVI international competition and SVG which is the a national Australian competition!!

They landed yesterday morning and got to train and try out the horses they will be competing on over the weekend. Today they will decide what horse they will compete on. Then the rest of the week they will be training on their chosen horses, barrel and get to train on a mechanical horse!!

Rhyanne, another one of the coaches will be joining them on Thursday which will be the first day of the CVI competition where most of our individuals will be competing!! That will kick off the rest of the weekend of the competition where each of them will perform their compulsories and individual freestyle in canter. Also performing a Pas De Dux (double) and team freestyle on the barrel!!

We will be keeping you all posted on training and lead up to the comp. Then keep an eye out over the weekend for competition content on our Instagram and page: Kapiti Equestrian and Vaulting, follow us if you're not already!!

Good luck to our talented Vaulters and thank you again for all the support and love!!
