Well I was excited for something to arrive over the weekend 🤗 We got two new sheep for the farm. Another rare NZ breed. Two pure bred Babydolls, a ram and an older ewe. Pretty excited to cross this breed with some of our Valais and Romney ewes. Plus hopefully our pure bred Babydoll ewe will also give us a lamb next season 🌳🩷🐑

Spring time, my fav time of the year 🐞🪻🌳 and ponies on the lawn. I'm sick of continually mowing them haha but grass is better than none 🌱🍀 so ponies get a wee time on the lawn when I'm home to keep an eye on them ☺️

I don't think I've said much about our sheep since our move to Waikari. They found it pretty tough going from Long Green Grass 🌱🍀 in Rai Valley to nothing here when we moved in March. We've fed hay, dried apples, pellets, baleage and a little grass just to try and keep weight on and for a few gain back weight. Anyway we finally have grass growing. 🙌😀 Last weekend they all got shorn and to my surprise all looked in rather good condition apart from the young two 🐏 They need to gain a little more weight. Today we finally got the go ahead to use part of the paddock next door, to graze it down. There's soo much grass, the sheep are in heaven 😇🌱🍀 I have a wee surprise turning up next weekend, so watch this space. I'm pretty excited 🤗

We picked up our new calves today. We weren't planning on having calves here in Canterbury but here we are 🤣☺️

We have a new family member 😂 Madison brought a new pet home from work 🐮 This wee girl she just had to save from going on the truck 🚛 😢 I think her name is Blossom 🌸

Super cold today here in Waikari, at 7.45 ish this morning it was still - 5 🥶 Soo cold. I raced outside in my dressing gown threw the cows some hay as poor Izzy was standing there shivering 😥 took a quick few photo then back inside by the fire 🔥

As some of you know but many of you won't we've moved from Marlborough to Canterbury ☺️ We moved about 4 weeks ago and are now feeling alot more settled. We brought down with us majority of the animals 🐶🐴🐃🐈‍⬛🐓🦃🐣 It was a huge move with with help from some special friends and family we made it 🙏👍🥰

I have a wee collection of photos of us living here in our new home 🏡 Hopefully now that we're more sorted I'll get back into posting more photos etc more regularly 😊

Scorching hot days atm 🌞 It keeps me on my toes keeping the water up to all the animals 🏖️🥵💧 We have two more family members, a pair of peacocks 🦚 They have been here well over a month penned up, so they no this is their new home 🏡 Anyway they have been let out for a week or so now and things aren't going too bad with them 😂

The Highlands, Izzy the Buffalo and our Hereford girl are back down the front near the house and ennjoying having the big trees for shade 🐃🐮🐂🌳☘️

Our buffalo Izzy is getting big 🐃 I still feel so privileged to have one of these on our property and she has come so far with trusting people ☺️

Bryan can finally feed Izzy out of his hand now 🥰 It's only take about a year 😅 Being gentle, quiet and patient definitely pays off. She's a funny girl....

This old mum chook hatched out these four Lady Amherst Pheasant chicks. They are I think a few months old now. Maybe not quite but are doing soo well 😍

So the last 7 days we have had another 180 odd mls of rain up our valley 😞 we are getting pretty over it. When will it stop! 🤔😕

Today was Ducks 1st day out of her cage to finally explore around the lawn and garden. Swan has been out and about by herself for a while now. It's soo nice seeing them out together now doing whatever they want 🦆🦢 Haven't they both grown!?
